Tournament Roster Policy
Coaches,
Over the last few seasons, there have been some issues arise with rosters and/or players in regards to the post-season tournament. Due to this, NECAL has the following policy as indicated below. Please understand that this is not to keep anyone from participating, but rather to keep everyone participating.
COMPLETED rosters must be emailed to the league director (Chuck Engman) PRIOR to your third game of the season. If they have not been received at the league office, your team will forfeit each scheduled game until they are faxed. Once the rosters are received at the league office, they are “frozen”. Anyone not listed on this roster is ineligible and MAY NOT play in any games in the regular or post-season without facing the risk of having the game forfeited (unless an exception is made by the League Director prior to the game(s) to be played). It is recommended that the rosters be filled in as soon as possible (max 20 players) in case of unforeseen circumstances. Coaches - even though NECAL is a Christian league - and this issue should be based on values and morals - please remind your players that they must have a photo I.D. with them at all times in the case of a roster check.
If a coach would like to have a roster checked, it will be conducted in the following manner:
1) A roster check will involve the two coaches meeting after the game - with the player in question – who must provide a valid photo I.D. The requesting coach will write down the team name, the “player-in-question” name, and the date of birth. He will then present it to the league director immediately.
2) League director will check the roster and verify the validity of the player. If the player is found to be ineligible, the offending team forfeits the game.
