2012 OVYBL 14s Set To Make a Run at the World Series

The competition will be tough, but this group of (14) fourteen-year olds will have an opportunity of a life-time.  To say you've been there is great; to say you won it would be amazing!  This group of young men who have competed against each other for years will come together and build fantastic memories through baseball.

The 14’s had the opportunity to compete in the Beast of the East Tournament June 28 to July 1st.   They played teams from Virginia, Niagara Falls Canada, Baltimore, Washington DC, Columbus, Cleveland, Chillicothe and Shadyside.  Their overall record for the tour was 4-3-1.  More importantly the team had an opportunity to get to know each other and coaches had the opportunity to move players around and see a variety of talent.

Their next tournament was July 12-14 at the Columbiana Diamond Classic.  The team would win 4 games in a row to take the championship.  The bats were hot and they scored 47 runs.  Excellent pitching and defense would only surrender 6 runs.

Coach Marchetta said the team played well but we must continue to work hard. Area high school coaches and former Post 33 players have offered their assistance in throwing batting practice, hitting instruction, and lining up scrimmage games.  They open Pony Sanctioned tournament play July 26.

Where and When could the 14 year old play?

Due to the fact the we are within 50 miles of Pony Headquarters, we wont follow the normal Section, Region, Zone, World Series steps.  Instead, we will compete in a local Satillite tournament.  If we win, we advance to the Host Area Tournament, and if we win, we advance to the Pony World Series.
