2012 Perfect Game Northeast Runner-up

Congratulations to the Staten Island Orioles Showcase team for finishing 2nd in the 18u Perfect Game Northeast Invitational this past weekend.
While it was a total team effort for the entire weekend,the team received outstanding pitching from TJ Santiago,Jon Dillivio,Vincenzo Aiello,Alex Plick and Mike Sullivan. Offensively, timely hitting from Sullivan,Darren Hanzich,Ray Smith and Anthony VanSise helped the team to a 4-1 record for the weekend.

Staten Island Orioles American Win the Mid Summer Classic

The Staten Island Orioles American went 5-0 over the course of the tournament, capping the weekend with a well played, hard fought 3-0 victory over the Staten Island Orioles National team.

2012 16u Blue Chip Prospects Northeast Elite Runnerup

Congratulations to the Staten Island Orioles Futures team for finishing 2nd in the 16u Blue Chip Prospects Northeast Elite Tournament this past weekend.

While it was a total team effort for the entire weekend,the team received outstanding pitching from Tom Cosgrove, Pat Ryan, Mark Pompa, Rob Esselborn and Christian Todd.

Outstanding defensive efforts were turned in by Vito Scalici, Andrew Cilento, Vin Burrafato and Dylan Lagiglia.

Offensively,Michael Reda, Marshall Kramsky, Michael Ahr, Spencer Brown, Joe Ruggirello and Michael Rapaglia supplied solid hitting and clutch at bats to help the team to a 4-1 record for the weekend.

2012 WWBA Underclass World Championship

The Staten Island Orioles traveled down to Ft.Myers Florida during the Columbus Day weekend to participate in Perfect Game's WWBA Underclass World Championship. The event which features approximately 160 of the top programs in the country, is held at various spring training complexes in the area, including the spring homes of the Red Sox, Rays and Twins.

The team played extremely well during the weekend, compiling a 2-1-1 record against teams from Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.
