The B.O.S.S. Baseball Academy is preparing for our 2010 campaign at all levels of the organization from U9 through U14. Tryouts for all teams will be held during the month of August, 2009. Please see below for level specific contact information and tryout schedules as they become available.
It is the goal of the B.O.S.S. Baseball Academy to field two teams at each age level. The teams are structured into Blue and Orange divisions.
The B.O.S.S. Baseball Blue Division has been historically comprised of Mequon/Thiensville based teams that draw their participants from the communities of Mequon/Thiensvllle and or the Mequon/Thiensville School Districts. These teams allow players interested in participating in the Wisconsin State Youth Baseball League www.wsybl.com the opportunity to represent their local community in high level competition againts peers who have formed similar community based teams from many other locations throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. These teams are often viewed as "feeder teams" to their local high school programs. These teams will typically also participate in weekend local and regional tournaments throughout the Midwest.
The B.O.S.S. Baseball Orange Division is an open roster tryout based tournament baseball division aimed at fielding highly competitive teams comprised of the highest caliber players from a mixture of communities. These teams participate in local, regional and national level tournaments. These teams may also choose to participate in league such as the M.A.J.O.R.S. Youth Baseball League. www.ballcharts.com/glybl These teams are typically highly competitive with the elite baseball programs and have enjoyed considerable success to this point in our organizations history.
Our tryouts will first focus on fielding one team at each level. If there are enough Mequon/Thiensville, or other single community players interested, we will first form a Blue team at that age level. The orange team will be formed from all players wishing to participate in the B.O.S.S. program and who do not have or do not desire the option of a single community based team.
Age and Birth date Eligibility Requirements
To determine team age eligibility, your son must be the team specific age level on or before May 1st, 2010. For example, to be eligible for a 2010 B.O.S.S. U9 Team, your son must be 9 on or before May 1st of 2010. The May 1sy age guideline is consistent for all age brackets.
B.O.S.S. Team Players Fees
Although each team will set their specific players fees based upon the planned or anticipated game/tournament schedules, practice facility rental needs, equipment needs, etc., team players fees are generally in the range of $500 to$800 per season. These fees are all inclusive though generally do not include the extra cost associated with the fees/expense related to national tournament participation held at venues such as Cooperstown Dreams Park or The Cal Ripken Baseball facilities. In the past, B.O.S.S. supported fundraising has been available for those interested in participating to assist in cost offsets.
