Pee Wee Basketball
The junior basketball program is for boys and girls in the first or second grade. This program will provide a framework for sportsmanship and fair play, while teaching the fundamentals of the sport. All practices and games will be at Calavera Hills Community Center, played on a court with eight foot baskets with a junior size basketball (27.5). Children will meet two days a week during the afternoon, with practice on Tuesdays and games on Thursdays (times will vary). Players must attend an assessment on March 27th at Calavera Hills Community Center,between 10 am and 12 noon in order to make balanced teams. Fees are $70 for Carlsbad residents and $80 for non-Carlsbad residents. Volunteer coaches will be needed. Pee Wee Indoor Soccer
This program, for boys and girls ages 4 to 6, is designed to give participants an opportunity to play one of the most popular sports around, in a recreational, noncompetitive environment, using safe equipment. Children will be evaulated and placed on balanced teams by Youth Sports staff. Each Saturday, children will arrive 20 minutes prior to game time for warm-up/ practice, and then particpiate in a game consisting of four 8-minute quarters. This program is designed for children of all abilities, with a goal of having fun. Evaluation, practices and games will be held at Stagecoach Community Center in the gymnasium. Players must attend assessments on March 27th at Stagecoach Community Center, between 1:30 - 3 pm in order to make balanced teams. League games will be played between the hours of 9 am -2 pm on Saturdays. Games will be each Saturday from April 10 - June 12.
