    Edgewood Rams Baseball
    Team Rules

    1) Athletes must attend a full day of school in order to be eligible to play in a contest that day. An athlete who comes to school late must have a doctor's note or he is INELIGIBLE TO PLAY THAT DAY. There will be no exceptions!

    2) On practice days if a player is going to be late to practice, he must bring a note from the teacher or adult that was detaining him that will contain the following: date, time, and reason why you were detained. If you do not have a note, do not come to practice. You will not be able to participate until a note is furnished for that lateness. Any player continually coming to practice late will at the discretion of the coaching staff become ineligible for play and will be dismissed from the team.

    3) All athletes must ride the team bus UNLESS a note signed by an administrator is presented to the coach and the parent talks to the coach after the game.(The note must be brought from home and given to the school office.)

    4) Hats must be worn with the brim of the hat over the eyes. Not turned around backwards or sideways.

    5) Shirt tails will be tucked inside the uniform from the time you leave the locker room until you reach the locker room AFTER the game.

    6) 150% is expected EVERYDAY in EVERY WAY! Anything less you're cheating your teammates.

    7) Profanity is not part of the program.

    8) Any player that believes he is above following the rules may leave quietly.

    9) Quitters will be just that..... and will not under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES be accepted back.

    10) This is a team sport and each individual is expected to treat his teammates accordingly.

    11) All players will wear baseball pants and hats to all practices. Shirts will be such that they may be tucked inside your pants at all times. Shorts are not acceptable baseball wear.

    12) When you leave the locker room you are EXPECTED to look and act like a RAM ball player at all times. You are representing EDGEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL...your behavior is a DIRECT reflection on the image of our school...make it a great one!

    13) Any player that is involved in any altercation with a teammate will at the coaches discretion, be reviewed for dismissal from the team. Also any player involved in a suspension from school for ANY reason except tardiness, will also be reviewed for dismissal from the team, again at the coaches discretion. Insubordination or any act of disrespect toward the coaching staff or teammates, will result in immediate removal from the team. Attitude problems are not welcome.

    14) Leave your trash talking in the locker room. Play with your glove and bat, not your mouth.

    15) Good sportsmanship is a must at all times. Players will NOT engage in ANY confrontations with the umpires. Coaches will take up the fight when necessary.

    16) Ram players are expected to maintain passing grades throughout the school year. Any students that find themselves on the ineligible list after the 2nd quarter grades have been issued, may not be eligible to try out for the team...even though you may have appealed your case to the school. This is not a county requirement to maintain passing grades, is a team requirement. Coaches will make final determination on whether or not student will be eligible for play.
