The application process for the Ray Abraham Educational Scholarship is open to all graduating seniors of Marcus Ice Hockey. The recipient will be recognized during the annual banquet.
To apply for the Ray Abraham Educational Scholarship you must provide the following:
-- 500 Word Essay:
Under 500 words describing the qualities that distinguish you from other applicants and explaining your career plans and goals. Also explain what Marcus Ice Hockey means to you,.
-- Letter of recommendation from school counselor or teacher
-- Letter of recommendation from the Marcus Varsity Head Coach
-- Complete the online application by the deadline posted on the Marcus website
Criteria:
*Applicant must be a high school senior and a current member of the Marcus Ice Hockey Team
*Applicants must plan to attend accredited two or four year college/university/trade school as a full time student beginning the summer or fall immediately following high school graduation.
*Applicant must have performed with distinction in terms of leadership, realizing potential, character and a “can do” positive as a member of the Marcus Ice Hockey team.
*Applicant conducted himself/herself both on and off the ice in a manner that has brought credit and respect to the student and the Marcus Ice Hockey Association
In addition to the above, consideration shall be given to participation to community activities, other than academic and athletic, in which the student has had the opportunity to demonstrate qualities of leadership and serve as an example to fellow teammates.
