James Hadobas Memorial Award- NJAAF Hall of Fame
Nearly thirty years ago, James Hadobas volunteered a great deal of his time and placed forth extensive efforts to form a youth sports organization here in the town of NORCO. Jim was driven by his desire to provide the youth of our community an organized place to learn, play and succeed in the game of football and life.
Jim’s special love for the youth in our community and for the game of football led the way to the building of our towns’ outstanding Junior All American Football program. His leadership and unselfish contributions to the program over the years, have to this day, never been matched. Jim was an outstanding citizen in the community with a dedication and willingness to sacrifice. These attributes along with his never quit attitude were what made Jim Hadobas. He was our President, a coach, a mentor and a friend to all. The impact he had on players, coaches and staff members will never be forgotten. Jim will always be remembered and deeply missed by all.
Since 1995, the prestigious “James Hadobas Memorial Award” has been presented to one special player from each team in recognition of the player’s dedication to the game of football, his team spirit and special love for the sport. This player has shown leadership and good citizenship on and off the field for the entire season. He has never quit or complained regardless of any sacrifices to be made. This player is a stand out, exemplifying the true character of James Hadobas and carries on his spirit.

IN THE SPRING OF 2009, NORCO JAAF AND THE COMMUNITY OF NORCO SUFFERED A HUGE LOSS. BRITTNEY PETERS, A NORCO JAAF CHEERLEADER, DAUGHTER AND FRIEND TO ALL, PASSED AWAY.
BRITTNEY HAD A “CAN DO” ATTITUDE. THERE WAS NO ONE SHE WOULDN’T STOP TO TALK TO, HELP, LISTEN TO OR GIVE A HUG TO. HER ENTHUSIASM WAS CONTAGIOUS TO EVERYONE AROUND HER.
IN HER MEMORY, THE BRITTNEY PETERS AWARD IS AWARDED TO A CHEERLEADER WHO EMINATES THESE QUALITIES: A MIDGET CHEERLEADER WHO HAS CHEERED AT LEAST 2 YEARS, DETERMINED, FOCUSED RESPECTFUL OF HER SELF AS WELL AS EVERYONE AROUND HER, WHO DOES NOT KNOW THE WORDS “I CAN’T” ONLY “I WILL”. EVERYTHING WE AS PARENTS WISH AND HOPE OUR DAUGHTER WILL BE.
