    CROSS COUNTRY SEASON IN REVIEW

The Fulton County Cross Country Teams closed out their 4th season with strong performances in the River County Championships and Region 1 Class A Championships. A team high of 10 runners participated this year including 7 Boys & 3 Girls. The season was highlighted by Three School Records, Three "All-River Counties" runners, and the school's first KY Class A State Meet Qualifer. Fulton County also hosted a successful Advantage Quad-Series for the third season in a row.

The 2008 Pilot Cross Country Team saw marked improvements in times over the course of the season. Each runner set new personal records and the group developed as a team in every competition. Individually for the boys, Chris Foederer had the most success this season including a first in his age division in the River Rat Race, placing at the Fenton-Dawson Rotary Invitational at Trigg County, making the "All River Counties" Team, medaling in the Advantage Quad-Series, and becoming the first runner in school history to advance to the State Meet. Chris also set a new school record with a 19:09 for a 5K. Other boys who earned awards were Matthew Whitt and Steven Fulcher who placed 1st & 2nd respectively in their age groups at the Railroader Heritage Days 5K. For the Middle School, Ladarrian Polk was a medalist in the Marshall County Invitational setting a school record for the 4K in 21:09. Clay Goodman, Kalob Williams, and Mitchell Mulcahy filled out the boys team and made considerable progress throughout the season.

On the girls side, Casey Dowty broke the school record in the Girls 5K with a 24:34 and also set the school record in the 3K with a 14:42. She was the JV Girls River Counties Champion and also medaled in the Advantage Quad-Series. Casey had a strong performance at the Region 1 Class A Meet just missing a bid to State. Also for the girls, Raneshia Warren made the All River Counties Team and Maegan Weatherly had a season with repeated personal successes.

As a team the Lady Pilot’s finished in 4th Place in the Advantage Quad-Series Varsity Division, and the Boys earned a 5th Place finsh for the series. In the Region 1 Class A Meet the Pilots once again fielded a full team and placed 6th as a which is one place better than the previous year.

    FULTON COUNTY HOME COURSE
