Merit Badge Counselors Needed
Having adults registered and background checked with the Council for merit badges is very important for the fun and advancement of Troop 77 scouts. You do not have to serve on the Troop Committee to be a registered Merit Badge Counselor. An adult can register to Counsel up to 9 merit badges. See Merit Badge Opportunities page on web-site for current lists.
Our scouts can use any Chief Okemos Council Merit Badge Counselor but it really speeds up the process if we have the most popular badges covered by Troop 77 adults. Our goal would be to cover all the Eagle required badges plus any other badges our adults have a passion for. Whether you’re willing to counsel one badge or 9 please pick up the appropriate paperwork at a meeting.

Recruit New Scouts for Troop 77
Scouts can earn a very nice patch designed by BSA celebrating 100 years of Boy Scouting, 1910-2010. In order to earn the patch a scout must successfully recruit a fellow scout for Troop 77. What could be more fun than adding another friend or acquaintance to Troop 77.
Scouts were given nice pamphlets with our Troop 77 07-08 schedule and contact information attached at the October 17 meeting. Extras are available from Cindy Reisig or in the literature racks at Herbison Woods, Jr. High and High School.

Uniform Closet Needs Donations
If you have any uniforms that you're not using or which your son has outgrown, please consider donating them to the Troop 77 Uniform Closet. This can be any uniform items such as Field Uniform (Class A) shirts, scout pants and shorts, troop neckerchiefs, or Activity uniform (Class B) shirts.
Likewise, if you are in need of uniform items, please check to see what's in the closet. They are available to all troop members. Now is the time to make sure you have a complete uniform in time for summer camp.

Donations Welcome for Uncle Tom's Memorial Scholarship Fund
This account, started in honor of Matt Walker’s grandfather, is always accepting donations. Troop 77 uses this scholarship fund to assist families with summer camp (and MIC) expenses. Any requests for a need based (maximum 50%) scholarship should be directed to Scoutmaster. Each year any remaining funds left from Summer Camp tuition are transferred to this fund.
