    Important Others

    Matt Multer

    Class of 2008

    Though Matt has never played an official statistical game, he has been an important player none the less. He is, at the moment, the most successful baseball player to step foot on Martiny Field, playing C-team baseball for Shawnee Mission South. He also gave birth to the floater to the NWBL, now used as a pitch to trick power hitters.

    Zach Barkovitz

    Class of 2008

    Zach was always more bark than he was bite. Though he talked a big game, he could never really back it up. He was hitter who either hit the ball hard or didn't hit it at all. He struck out quite a bit, always trying for the bomb instead of just making contact. As a pitcher, he never really could find the strike zone.

    Loarn Hinkle

    Class of 2008

    Loarn played in the non-statistical era and played more than anyone on this list. Though he stopped playing around the league the time league began keeping numbers, he may have been the best player in the league. He had all around athletic ability, he was a high school basketball and football player at the prestigious Southlake-Carroll in Texas where he moved after his eighth grade year.

    Josh Goddard

    class of 2007

    A big player, he had monstrous power, although would strike out quite a bit. One of Alex's friends, he could pitch hard. He didn't have the greatest control with his pitches. He is a big fan of lacrosse and played in high school.

    Austin Ritter

    class of 2013

    One of Josh's friends, he has played in the league more than once including ome statistical game. He has decent power, but poor pitching. He is a very good baseball player, playing on Josh's tournament baseball team.

    Taylor Winter

    class of 2012

    Luke's friend who also played in a statistical game, he is a very good hitter, but not a pitcher at all and gave up 8 runs in 2/3 of an inning. (actually it was less than that but it was such a beating and an argument that we gave him two outs) He was originally in Kendra's class, but ended up in Luke's.

    Ryan King

    class of 2015

    Another one of Nate's friends who spent Mondays during the 2009 season at the Monsees house. He was a decent hitter, but his pitching was not great. He's very confident in his skills

    Bryce Boyda

    class of 2015

    One of Nate's friends who played a couple of games with us. He isn't a great pitcher, but he is a decent hitter. He doesn't have much pop but he is capable of getting hits.

    Dawson Engle

    class of 2016

    Matt's next door neighbor is the youngest player of all the kids. He played in one statistical game, going 1 for 5. He is best remembered for going straight after a ball and running face first into the wall. He is a young hockey prodigy, playing a year up and even making all star teams.

    Jay Martiny

    Class of 1974

    The original NWBL player, Jay taught the game to the kids, and pitched for them in the early years. He also was the league's main sponser, buying balls and bases. He has played wiffle ball with them, though not lately, usually batting left handed as a handicap. However, he has done this so much that he has become a stronger hitter from the left side. Jay is an indispensable member in NWBL's history.
