MUDCATS GIVE BACK TO COMMUNITY AT RBI BASEBALL CAMP AT REAGAN HIGH SCHOOL SATURDAY
The Austin Mudcats have always been active in the community and they have now extended their efforts to the brand new RBI Austin baseball program. RBI stands for Resurrecting Baseball in Inner Cities. Several Mudcats volunteered their time helping over 100 kids with basic baseball fundamentals that included running, throwing, fielding, and hitting. "There have been several major league baseball players that have played in RBI programs around the nation and it is awesome that RBI has found its way to Austin. We were lucky to be allowed to volunteer at such a great camp that serves an incredible purpose," Vice President Mike Dunn stated after the camp ended today.
The Austin Mudcats would like to thank Matt Price who organizes RBI Austin for the opportunity to work with these great kids. The Mudcats would also like to thank Jimmie Naumann, Mike Dunn, Ben Parker, Adam Chatman, and Jamie League for their efforts today at the camp.

MUDCATS BASEBALL CAMP AT NORTH AUSTIN OPTIMIST
The Mudcats took this past Sunday March 20th to give back to the community by working a free baseball camp at North Austin Optimist. The Mudcats gave instruction on throwing, fielding, baserunning, hitting, and other points of emphasis in baseball to over 50 kids ages 5-12 that might not be able to afford the high prices that most camps cost these days. The kids were enthusiastic about the opportunity to learn a few tips from some former professional and collegiate baseball players. The Mudcat instructors have over 40 years of combined camp instruction experience at The University of Texas and really enjoy working with kids on the fundamentals of baseball. "This was a great day that is very important for these kids and for us. We played at local optimists in Austin just like these kids are now and what a great bridge to build with these kids. Hopefully they learned a few things that can help them along the way in their season this year," Community Outreach Officer Tommy Sorden said after the camp.
The Mudcats would like to thank the North Austin Optimist Board of Directors and all of their coaches that allowed us to be a part of this great day. The Mudcats would also like to thank Mike Lucas and the Austin Metro Baseball League for allowing us to participate in this great opportunity.
A special thanks to all of the Cats that instructed at the camp: Jimmie Naumann, Mike Dunn, Jason Rangel, Ben Parker, Travis Barlow, Steven Smolinsky, Kyle Gruver, Tommy Sorden, Gerry Morrison, and Jamie League.
