2014 GSBBL Playoff Information
Brackets have been released that include teams. Final Brackets have been posted for (almost) all GSBBL Divisions. Please note that both the 6th & 8th Grade Boys Brackets are still a work in Progress. We plan to have final brackets up by the end of today.

Each round has a completion date which is the last date that the tournament game can be scheduled and played (In a perfect world - In the real world we all live in it's a target that everyone should try and hit). Games are to be played at the site of the higher seed. Home team coach to contact visiting team coach and offer 2 options (date/time) for match to be scheduled. Visiting team picks and sends email to ProposedGamesAtGSB@Gmail.com to have game put on the schedule.
If home team does not have gym time available, then game to be played at the lower seed's gymnasium. They provide a choice of 2 options (date/time) and opponent chooses. If neither team has gym time, you are unable to agree on a date and time, or you do not think you can meet the deadlines for playing a game, please contact your flight coordinator.

For flights with more than 8 teams, there are play in games that should be scheduled to be played during the Feb 24-26, 2014 timeframe. While we recognize that some teams may have issues with scheduling weeknight games and gym availability, please understand that playoff games need to be played according to the following deadlines.

What about other games that are on the schedule? Teams are welcome to play other games and scrimmages during the playoffs. we only ask that everyone understand that playoff games should take precedence over anything else on your schedule.
When the game is played, please report scores of the match to PlayoffsatGSB@gmail.com Please note that this is a different email address than you have been using to report regular league games. The bracket will be updated and teams that are moving on should contact their next opponent regarding time, date, and location of their next match. Format the subject of your email to include (in order please!) Grade Gender Flight - for example; 4th Girls Flight A - include teams and scores in body of email. Please follow the subject convention as all of the flight coordinators will be accessing the same email account and the easier you make it to find what we need, the easier it will be for us to keep the brackets current.
Don't be afraid to be Proactive! If you are moving on to the next round, and your next opponent will be the winner of a match scheduled to take place in the future, contact both teams to see what would work best for them (assuming that they win and move on). Don't leave everything to the last minute. If we have learned nothing this season, it's always a good idea to play EARLY! Remember Mother Nature has not been kind, and I would not count on her behavior improving.
