In early 2010, a group of American families will once again leave their warm homes and travel to the snows of Montreal for the fifth year of our program.

Friends for Life 2010
February 11-14
Ste. Anne de Bellevue

We are always looking for new families to join our ever-growing US/Canada hockey family. Remember, this is not about elite hockey. It’s about cultural exchange, instilling important life skills into our youngsters, and spending time together as a family. Please consider joining or supporting us and make new friends, for life.

For more information, please contact:

In Canada:
Bob McEwen, (514)984-3598

In the United States:

What is Friends for LIfe?
The Friends for Life program is the brainchild of Bob McEwen of M&L Hockey in Quebec. Bob spent many years in competitive hockey as a player and coach, until realizing that the sport had become too much about winning at all costs. His efforts then turned to creating a program that focused on youth enjoyment of the game, regardless of skill, and this became the objective of M&L Hockey.

Bob then developed a relationship with the Space Coast Iceplex in Rockledge, Florida, by running the M&L Hockey camp each summer. Through conversations with Florida friends: the late Tim Szymula, Rick Ninko (owner of the Iceplex), and Gary O’Neil (coach and president of the local hockey organization), the idea of creating a youth exchange program was born.
