    2006 First Practice/Tryout at USF 2:00pm - 4:30pm on May 7th

    - The first practice/tryout session at University of San Francisco Baseball Field from 2:00pm - 4:30pm. The event is on invitational bases. All players should contact Coach Elsner by e-mail bayareagiants@aol.com or call (415)244-4035 before attending. Any player not on the invitational list will not be allowed to attend this event.     Bay Area Giants got very close, but dropped against SLO Blues
    Another Crucial Division Game against White Sox tomorrow May 30th from 5:00pm

    - The Bay Area Giants (2-4) came very close to SLO blues twice at SLO home field in font of exciting crowds. Dropping three games against Blues would hurt the record, but it gave us more confidence and solid teamwork over the trip.

    While visiting SLO, David Parshal went 7 innings only 2 hits and 9 K's, excellent job the 1st game in SLO season opening and John Justice 2 runs in 6 2/3 innings only 3 hits for 3rd game in Memorial Day.

    Bay Area Giants will visit Mission College to play against White Sox with another crucial division game. Last two contests, Giants took wins, but this is whole another game.     Busiest Week for Giants starts from This Thursday with Best of the West Tournament

    - Bay Area Giants (5-13-1) participates Best of the West Tournament beginning from Jun 22 Thursday for Berkeley Division at Home of the Cal Bears Field, Evans Diamond. Both Thursday and Friday are double header. The first game against league team, Oakland Expos, on Thursday starts at 12:30 p.m. and second game against Salinas Packers starts at 4:30 p.m. The first game on Friday against Navato Nicks starts at 9:00 a.m. and the second game starts against Fontanetti's starts at 4:00 p.m. Both Thursday and Friday has a gap between games so please bring a book to read, a homework to study, or things to do.

    Giants took one win against Solano Thunderbirds and well rested for the busiest week in 2006 champaign, eight games over 4 days including a back-to-back DH game at Best of the West Tournament, Saturday DH against League opponent Marin Merchants, and Sunday DH against Sacramento Legends.

    All player must arrive at Evans Dianmond located at campus of University of Californis, Berkeley for the Thursday game by 10:30 a.m. due to traffic & parking and wear WHITE BASEBALL PANTS. Bart would not be a bad idea for Berkeley trip or Car Pool. Players must arrive Evans Diamond by 7:45 a.m. for Friday game. Click this link for a direction to Evans Diamonds.     - Bay Area Giants had difficult time over the weekend and would bounce back to action this Wednesday against Nor Cal Longhorns at 5 p.m. start over West Sunset Park.

    "Enjoy and relax the 4th of July!! and come back to ball park with fresh phsique and mind, because our season is still in our hand" said Coach Elsner.

    All player must arrive by 4 p.m. to West Sunset for Wednesday game against Longhorns, also for Friday against Novato Nicks by 6 p.m. to San Rafael for 7 p.m. game and for Sunday against Fairfield Indians to fairfield by 10 a.m. for 11 a.m. first game .     June 7, 2006 - Bay Area Giants (3-7-1) will travel North to San Rafael, Alberts Park, to face Novato Nicks on Friday June 9th 2006 at 7 p.m. All player must arrive the Park by 5:45 p.m. for warm-up session.     - Don't get confused about schedule change. Next game is on next Saturday, July 15th Double Header against Nor Cal Longhorns at College of San Mateo starting from 9:00 a.m. Plan to arrive at 8:00 a.m. for warm-up. Bring a bag lunch since it is going to be a hot and long day.

    - HOME SEASON OPENING is set against San Francisco Angels at Big Rec Graham inside Golden Gate Park from 5:30pm on May 24, Wednesday.

    The Angels has been a very big team in our League and this home opener will be a battle between both of the teams to take a initiative for the league game. So be prepared for the battle! One step at a time. "keep making play and keep making pitches" All player must arrive at the park by 4:00pm for warm-up. Please bring White Baseball Pants.     - Bay Area Giants will travel North to play last league games against Marin Merchants on Sunday July 23 at College of Marin. Merchants currently is racing the first place in Northern Division with Novato Nicks and Solano Mudcats.

    "This is the best oppotunity for Bay Area Giants to show our level of baseball in our league" said Coach Elsner.Players should arrive at the field by 10 a.m. Click here for the direction to College of Marin.     Giants then will play Palo Alto Oaks after Merchants before traveling to Humboldt from Friday July 28th.


    Memorial Day Weekend Battle at San Luis Obispo Blue on May 28 & 29.

    - The Bay Area Giants (2-1) will visit San Luis Obispo Blues for their 2006 Opening Season. Please turn in your SLO fee of $35.00 which covers room, meal, and umpires to Coach Elsner ASAP. Everybody must turn in this expense in order to participate the games.

    The three game series at blues in Sinsheimer Park is scheduled at 6:05pm on Sunday May 29 and 12:15pm/3:00pm on Monday May 30.

    - Bay Area Giants will play Palo Alto Oaks on Wednesday, July 26 at Big Rec Golden Gate Park from 5 p.m. before traveling to Humboldt Crabs. Over Humboldt, we will face quality baseball team with four game format over three days.

    Humboldt trip Schedule:
    A). 7/28/06 7:00pm (1-9), batting practice 5:00pm
    B). 7/29/06 5:30pm (2-7) batting practice 3:00pm, check out 12:30pm
    C). 7/30/06 12:30pm (19) no batting practice, arrive at 10:30am

    Season Opening Win to Success: One Step at A Time and Take Next One

    - The Bay Area Giants(1-0) defeated the East Bay White Sox in 7 innings at San Bruno City Park on May 21 for 2006 season opening game. The win should set a tone for the team and expectation for 2006 Bay Area Giants.

    Danny Rico/CF(Menlo College) enjoyed his strong day with 3 for 3 with 2RBI and 1 run scored. Jeff Habeeb/LF(CSUH) also added another 2 RBI. Nick Gorman/P(CCSF) completed 3 strong innings with 6K's, Corey Kakama/P(CCSF) threw 3 innings with 3K's, Matt Giger/P(CCSF) closed the game out in the 7 with the bases loaded. Yuta Miamoyta/SS(CCSF) & Will Mclloghin/2B(Menlo) both combined with 2 killer 6-4-3 to stop the White Sox threats.

    Bay Area Giants will return to action on Wednesday May 24 against San Francisco rival Angels. The first pitch is set at 5:30pm at Big Rec inside Golden Gate Park.


    Six Bay Area Giants Players Selected to SLR All Star Team

    July 3, 2006
    - Sacramento Rural League (SLR) announced 2006 SLR All-Star roster and six Bay Area Giants players were selected: Nick Gorman(CCSF)-P, Yuta Miyamota(CCSF)-SS, Will McLoughlin(Menlo College)-2B, Anthony Edward(Menlo College)-P, David Parshall(CCSF)-P, Jonathan Overall(Patten University)-OF. Selected players will participate 2006 4th Annual SLR All-Star Game at Travis Credit Union Park (TCUP), Vacaville, starting from 7 p.m. on Thursday July 13th. Players must be present at 5:00pm for batting practice and warm ups.

    "This is great for Bay Area Giants, and we are gaining a lot of reputation. Dispite our league record of 3-9-1, Giants still have an oppotunity to prove ourselves better than where we are" said Coach Elsner.

    - All-star game was held on July 13th at Travis Credit Union Park, Vacaville, where the park is planned to be demolished after this season and it was great game with fun attractive competition. The game was tied 2-2 in the 10th and Southern Devision lost 5-2. "It was the great representation of our team" said Coach Elsner after he observed the game at the stadium. Anthony Edwards (Menlo College) MSVU transfer pitched 3 innings giving up 2 hits and no runs striking out 2. Nick gorman pitched 2 innings striking out 1 and giving up 1 run. Yuta and Will combined for 2 DP's and Johnathe Overall (Patten University) made ESPN plays in RF.

    - Bay Area Giants (1-1) struggled offensively and diffensively and dropped a close game at Bic Rec agains San Francisco Angels. Giants jumped up early to manage two runs, but Angels took advantage of defensive mistakes to past Giants.





    This Weekend Series from June 16th to 18th at Solano Thunderbirds

    June 12, 2006
    - Bay Area Giants (4-11-1) travel east to visit Solano Thunderbirds this weekend series from June 16 Friday to June 18 Sunday. Games on Friday and Saturday start at 7:05pm and a game on Sunday starts at 6:05pm. Saturday June 17th will be a firework night after a conclusion of the game.

    Giants fought well with three opponents over five games including a back-to-back DH game on weekend, but fell four times. "We now know we are one of the great teams in the league, and we need to prove what we can do and proud of what we do everyday and every game" said Coach Elsner. Hiroyuki Ito has made immidiate impact to the team since his day of arrival to the states and led the team with hitting .500 over five games with solid diffence at the left field. John Justice (Hinds JC) pitched a 2 hit shut-out complete game on Saturday game against Redding.

    All player must arrive at Travis Credit Union Park by 5 p.m. for BATTING PRACTICE on both Friday and Saturday and by 4 p.m. on Sunday. Click this link for a direction to Travis Credit Union Park. Please expect some traffic and allow approximately an hour and fifteen minutes from San Francisco. It is season four for the Solano Thunderbirds summer collegiate wood bat baseball team at Travis Credit Union Park in Vacaville. The boys of summer will return under the reign of former UC Davis baseball Coach and newly inducted Hall of Fame Coach, Phil Swimley. After retiring from 37 years as head Coach of the Aggies squad, Swimley anticipates another competitive season from his summer team who he has recruited from schools throughout the country.


    Three former Bay Area Giants players moved to NCAA Division I School

    April 23, 2006 (San Francisco, CA)
    - Three former Bay Area Giants players received scholorships to Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils, NCAA Division I.

    Mark Johnston, LHP, joined the Bay Area Giants in the inaugural season. Since his entry to the team, Johnston showed his talent and continued to contribute his pitching ability to the team. Last season Johnston led a team pitching staff with the lowest ERA with 4.73 and wins. The 6'4" left-hander transferred to MVSU as sophomore status from Ohlone College after his successful freshman year at the College level.

    Jerome Saddler, outfielder, used incredibly fast running ability to help teamfs base running. Saddler transferred to MVSU from City College of San Francisco where he played both Football and Baseball.

    Tony Ohlssen played a major role on infield position and played 25 games out of 36 games in 2005 season. Ohlssen transferred to MVSU as Junior status from Canada College.

    The Bay Area Giants, Collegiate Wood Bat Baseball Team, would like to congratulate Mark Johnston LH-P, Jerome Saddler OF, and Tony Ohlssen INF and contenuous success on and off the field.


    Travel West and South to DH League and Non-League games on June 3 & 4 Weekend

    - Bay Area Giants (2-5) faces Solano Mudcats in Vacaville, CA for Double Header League game on June 3rd Saturday from 11am. Also on Sunday, Giants travels south to play single 9 innings game against San Jose Yankees at new Santa Clara University baseball facility from 11am. NOTE: Bay Bridge will be closed from midnight to 10:00am on Sunday, so use alternative routes from the east bay.

    Triple header July 1st from 9 a.m. at Diablo Valley College against Expos

    - Bay Area Giants will return to action from Saturday July 1st for the first triple header game against league opponent, Oakland Expos after recovering from the busiest week of 8 game series over four days. This is the only day and three game series this week. The last match against both organizations was just past week at Best of the West Tournament and Giants beat Expos with 1-0.

    "We need to take every games from Expos in order to stay focusing on our play-off situation in our Rural League." said Coach Elsner.

    All player must arrive at Diable Valley College at 8 a.m. for 9 a.m. 1st game. Coach Elsner also plans to collect fee of $45.00 for Homboldt trip from July 28 and 30, four game series against & players not staying with the team will need to turn in $20.00. Humboldt Crabs. The fee will cover two nights of lodging and include food.


    White Sox vs. Giants at West Sunset #1
    June 5, 2006 - Bay Area Giants (3-7) faces East Bay White Sox for another crucial league game at home of San Francisco West Sunset #1 Baseball Diamond located at 41st Ave & Pacheco, SF. Ca 94116 (Sunset District) on June 7 Wednesday from 5:30pm. All player must bring white pants for the event and plan to arrive at 4:00pm for warm-up.

    The last game at Santa Clara county (Mission College), Giants lost with 4-8 decision, but the game was in a very busy week with just coming back from San Luis Obispo trip. This up-coming game will complete a 4 game regular league series against White Sox. So far, Giants leads the series with 2-1 and needs to take win to secure the league lead in the Bay Division.


    Win makes Bay Area Giants prepare for the Memorial Weekend trip to SLO

    - Bay Area Giants (2-1) once again defeat East Bay White Sox at Bic Rec. Giants battled back in the 9th inning to pull out a win. Nick Gorman(CCSF) with the help of Cameron Braiser(Patten University) behind the plate, pitched a perfect game into the 7th inning for a no decision. Matt Gire(CCSF)picked up the win and Anthony Edwards(Menlo)pitched 1/3 innings for the save. Offensively, Vernon Beadle(Santa Rosa JC)went 2 for 4 with three RBI. Jonathan Overall, Will McLoughlin(Menlo), and Yuta Miyamoto also recorded two hits. Nickolas Fangonilo(Balboa High School)and Graig Whelan(Patten University)added single hit to make 10 hits for the game, however the Bay Area Giants stranded 16 base-runners for the game. Johnathen Overall (Patten University)played excellent defense and delivered the game winning RBI at the bottom of 8th inning.

    September 3, 2006  --   The Bay Area Giants Collegiate Baseball team finish another successfull season. Anthony Edwards(P)-transfer from Menlo College will be attending MVSU. Ryan Hill(INF)-transfer from San Mateo Junior College will be a Gator at SFSU. Edwin Lindo(P)-transfer from University of Pacific will be attending Cal State University Montery Bay. Congratulations to the entire team for their hard work and dedication. Hope to see many of you next year!

    - 2006 Bay Area Giants is looking forward to enjoying a successful season with the Opening Day double header against East Bay White Sox on Sunday, May 21st.

    The Giants will hold four practices/try-out sessions before the Opeing Day. The players and staff will shape up during the practices/try-out sessions and prepare our mind with physique for summer wood-bat baseball. After the Opening Day in away, The Giants will host the first HOME OPENER against visting Angels on Wednesday, May 24, and then battle with White Sox once again for the league game on next day Thursday.

    "This 2006 season will be very successful with talented players from various colleges and WBC Champion, Japan. I am excited to have our games on the way with experienced players and staff" said George Elsner, 3rd year Head Coach for Bay Area Giants.     2nd Practice/Tryout at Big Rec, Golden Gate Park, 10:30am-1pm on May 14

    - Coach Elsner announced the second practice/tryout session in 2006 campaign will be held at Big Rec Ball Park inside Golden Gate park from 10:30am until 1:00pm on May 14 Sunday. The event is also on invitational bases. All players should contact Coach Elsner by e-mail bayareagiants@aol.com or call (415)244-4035 before attending. Any player not on the invitational list will not be allowed to attend this event. Everybody must arrive to the field by 10:15am for the meeting.     Players and staff who are interesting in attending the Final West Coast Conference USF regular season game against Loyola Marymount University right after the practice must contact Hiro via e-mail with your last and first name by May 11 Thursday. The last game is scheduled to start at 1pm at USF Dante Beneditti Field. Bay Area Giants thanks Hiro for the oppotunity to watch one of the best collegiate teams in Bay Area. USF (29-19)is currently placed on second in WCC standing with one game behind Pepperdine Univ.

    - Bay Area Giants held the first practice/tryout session at University of San Francisco Baseball Field. We as the organization would like to thank USF Baseball and wish their continuous success in WCC conference race. USF is currently tied at the first place with Pepperdine University and three-game left in the championship race which will be held at USF baseball field from this coming Friday.

    About 25 players showed up for the season opening practice/tryout session on sunny and beautiful day in Bay Area. Coach Elsner enjoyed a wonderful day with prospective players and excited about their talent level. Bay Area Giants will a continue pre-season event this coming Sunday.

    - Coach Elsner announced that Bay Area Giants would hold last practice/tryout session at Crocker Amazon #1 baseball field from 11:30am until 2:00pm on May 20th Saturday a day before 2006 opening game. This day is also the due for the team fee as well as photo day for individual and team. Please bring the giants hat for the photos and all player should arrive by 11:00am. Those who may not be able to stay for the practice should try to come for the photo. It should be done by 11:30pm at the latest.

    "It is important for everybody to practice at every field so that our player will be comfortable with the field we will be using this 2006 campaign as a home field. This last practice/tryout session at Crocker Amazon will give us an oppotunity and confident to open 2006 season" said Coach Elsner. The event is also on invitational bases.     OPENING GAME is a Single Game at San Bruno City Park from 10:00am on May 21

    - 2006 Bay Area Giants at last start the season at San Bruno against East Bay White Sox from 10am. This opening day was scheduled to be a double header game, but now this is the final decision with a single 9 inning game starting from 10pm.

    East Bay White Sox has been notifying Giants to switch field and time changes several times. This may confuse everyone, but we don't play mind game; we play ball at ball park to overcome the opponent!

    All player must arrive to the San Bruno City Park by 8:40am unless you notified coach Elsner. Click THIS LINK for direction to the Park.
