Meeting was called to order at 7:15 p.m. on June 14, 2009 at the Kennedy Twp. Fireman’s club.

Organizations represented at the meeting were CIT, Sto-Rox, Robinson Twp., South Fayette and Findlay.

Organizations fined the missed meeting fee are: North Fayette, Avonworth, Q.V., Canon Mac, Chartiers Valley and Moon.

A situation was brought up that allegedly occurred during a Pony League game between Sto-Rox and Quaker Valley based on an e-mail sent to Pat Reilly V.P. of the C.V.B.A. A parent of a Q.V. player indicated that they heard the 3rd Base coach of Sto-Rox made a comment towards the (Q.V.) pitcher that he was throwing like a girl. When questioned about the comment the Sto-Rox Coach indicated that he had made no such comment to any Q.V. player and that he does not speak to opposing teams during a game. The Coach for Sto-Rox has been involved with the C.V.B.A. and the Sto-Rox organization for many years with no such similar instances occurring. It was decided based on these facts that no action would be taken against this alleged instance.

It has come to the attention of the board that runners have been attempting to hurdle position players to avoid tags. This is against the C.V.B.A. rules and this is not only an out but an automatic ejection from the game.

Pony League play must be completed by Sunday June 21, 2009. The sooner all scores are turned in the sooner the playoff pairings can be announced. If games are left un-played the league will not award any points for the game.

Playoff pairings for the first round will be as follows 1/8, 2/7, 3/6 and 4/5. The higher seed with 1 being the highest will be the home team and host the game at their field if available. If their field is not available it can be played at the lower seed teams field however the higher seed team will still be the home team. The second round will be reseeded based on the teams left with the highest seeded team playing the lowest team.

Tie Breakers for playoff seeding are as follows:

    1st Tie Breaker Most Wins
2nd Tie Breaker Head to Head

The playoff games dates are as follows:

    1st Round Monday June 22, 2009
    2nd Round Wednesday June 24, 2009
Finals (Best of 3) Friday June 26, 2009
    Sunday June 28, 2009
(If Necessary) Tuesday June 30, 2009

These dates must be used unless of rain which will push back the game by one day only leaving the remainder of the schedule in tact.

Same pitching rules will be followed as were used in the Regular season.

It was determined the same awards would be handed out this year as years past and they are as follows:

1st Place Regular Season Hooded Sweatshirts
    2nd Place Regular Season T-Shirts

1st Place Playoffs Wind Breaker Jackets
    2nd Place Playoffs T-Shirts

These are the same awards for Pony and Colt League.

We will present the Regular Season awards on Sunday June 28th at the conclusion of the second game of the Finals.

Mark Churchin of Robinson was questioned if Robinson, North Fayette and Moon are forming their own league next year. Only able to speak on behalf of Robinson Township he indicated that Robinson was very happy to be back in the C.V.B.A. this year and is not looking to make a change.

The next CVBA meeting will be held at the Kennedy Twp. Fireman’s Club on July 12th at 7:00 p.m.

    Meeting was adjourned.
