The Rams grinded out a tough 185 yards against Santa Rosa’s swarming defense. Brian Rinetti scored a TD and lead the team with 89 yards rushing. Roddrick Douglas scored the other TD to give the Rams 18 points. The defense was lead by Micheal Scott who had 10 tackles followed by Jackson Bird with 9, Ethan Rogers, Anthony Murphy and Luke Starnes each had 8. “we played a very tough team and I expect them to be in the play-offs” said Coach Clay.

Dixon 38 - Petaluma 12
The Jr. Midget Rams beat the Petaluma Panthers 38-12 on Sunday in Petaluma. The Rams offense tallied up 486 yards of offense on the day. BJ Rinetti scored 2 TD’s and rushed for 90 yards playing fullback. Micheal Scott and Roddrick Douglas each had 83 yards rushing. The Rhino offensive line with Seth Clay, Jordan Vigil, Jackson Bird, David Aarhus, Greg Tobias, Nathan Gates, Antwan Whitley and Chad Baptiste played a flawless game. “I could sell this video to coaches on how to block in the double wing system” says Coach Clay. QB Tyler Fullerton passed for 123 yards and connecting with Chad Baptiste for 2 TD passes and a extra point. Tyler also score a TD on a QB sneak of 1 yard. The Bison Offense also had a great game, the backfield of Jordan Vigil, Jackson Bird, Anthony Murphy, Luke Starnes and Lem Osorio Combined for a total of 107 yards with Jordan scoring a TD. Blocking for the Bison running backs was Austen Thompson, Ben Gore, Alexis Lopez, Ryan Butler, Carlos Ramirez, David Aarhus and Greg Tobias. The Rams Defense played equally as well only giving up 12 points. Nathan Gates had a breakout game with 14 tackles followed by Jackson Bird with 9, Ethan Rogers with 7 and Blake Becker with 6. “We only have 22 players and they get tired out there. I like the fact I just keep plugging players in all over the place and they produce” added Coach. Roddrick Douglas had an interception and added 3 onside kick recoveries to propel the JM’s to Victory.

DIXON 20 - WINDSOR 6
The Dixon Jr. Midgets started out the day with an incredible well executed drive by the Rhino offense. A pass from Tyler Fullerton to Chad Baptiste set the plate for a 4 yard run by Roddrick Douglas. BJ Rinetti caught a pass from Tyler for the extra point, BJ also had an excellent day on defense. Roddrick finished the day with 103 yards and 2 TD’s and an interception on defense. Micheal Scott had a big game for the Rams with 83 yards and his 1st TD of the year with a 15 yard run. The Rams ended the game with 345 yards on offense. “Bison offense was on fire today. the line did an extremely good job today” answered Coach Jason when asked. The Bison Running backs Anthony Murphy, Jordan Vigil, Jackson Bird and Lem Osorio tallied 109 yards behind the blocking of Austen Thompson, Carlos Ramirez, Antwan Whitley, Ben Gore, Ryan Butler, David Aarhus and Greg Tobias. “ The line is the heroes of our team. They come to practice every day and they have to hear us as coaches tell them they missed block’s here and there and they have to get better” says Coach Clay. “Without those boys in the trenches blocking their hearts out for the team, we wouldn’t win a game” Coach added. The Rams defense keep the Knight’s off the field with interceptions by Chad Baptiste, Anthony Murphy, Micheal Scott and a Fumble recovery by Jackson Bird. Nathan Gates who had another stellar game on the offensive line and on defense also recovered an Onside Kick. The Rams Defense never allowed Windsor to get into their typical game rhythm. They like to play power football in the 1st half and spread it out in the 2nd, but the Rams had total of 59 offensive plays to keep the Knight’s off the field. “This is an amazing group of boys who have been playing for Coach Jason and I for a couple of years now. They just keep losing players every year and they just keep winning” said Coach Clay.

DIXON 14 - ROHNERT PARK 20
The Jr. Midgets Rams lost their 1st game of the season on Saturday against a very strong Rohnert Park team. “we were sleep walking, just like last year’s Ukiah game” said Coach Jason. The Rams were definitely not themselves this week. The Rams still put up its usual 300 plus yards of offense, but they fumbled the ball away 4 times in the game. “ If you told me this team would fumble 4 times this season I would have said no way. We fumbled 4 times in one game” said Coach Clay surprisingly. Jackson Bird had 9 tackles in the 1st half before leaving the game with a sore back. The Warriors took a 6-0 lead into halftime. The 1st time the Rams had been trailing all season. The Rams came back out n the second half still not feeling it. the Warrior’s took a 20-0 lead into the 4th quarter. The Rams finally woke up with 6 minutes left in the game when Roddrick Douglas broke off a 72 yard run for a TD. The Jr. Midgets stop the Warriors with a 3 and out and seized the momentum. That’s when Tyler Fullerton took over and started passing the ball all over the field. Tyler moved the Rams down the field before hitting Roddrick with a 35 yard TD pass. The Rams had control of the game, unfortunately the clock was working against them. “My team showed great heart today. they didn’t lose, they just ran out of time. In youth football when one team puts up 20-0 lead the other team usually just fades away” said Coach Clay. “I was so proud of all the boys. They fought back and didn’t hang their heads. They scored 14 points in 5 minutes and I had no doubt in my mind if would have gotten the ball it would have been at least a tied ball game” added Coach. The Rams move on to play Central City Phantoms this week. “we will be ready this week. I can see a real hungry look in their eyes after losing” said Coach Bird when asked. It’s a long season with 7 more regular games left before the play-offs.

DIXON 41 - CENTRAL CITY 13
The Jr. Midget Rams got back on track this week with a win over the Central City Phantoms. The Rams tallied 347 yards of offense on the day. Roddrick Douglas had 157 yards and 2 TD’s rushing along with a 44 yard TD reception and 2 kicked extra points. Jackson Bird scored his 1st TD of his young football career behind the great blocking of the Bison lineman David Aarhus, Greg Tobias, Ryan Butler, Austen Thompson, Alex Lopez, Ben Gore and Carlos Ramirez. “ It’s amazing how effective that group of players when they are on the field together. They work really hard in practice to get good” said Coach Jason. Jackson also had 9 tackles and a sack on defense. Strong and Steady BJ Rinetti had 51 yards rushing and 2 TD’s in the game. BJ also contributed on defense with 10 tackles. Also, strong on defense was Nathan Gates with 8 tackles, Chad Baptiste with 7 tackles and an interception, jordan vigil had a fumble recovery and 5 tackles. “We started out kind of slow on defense today. it was about 120 on the turf at the start of the game. I was mixing kids in all over the place trying to keep the off the field and getting plenty of water” Coach Clay said. “I am a real stickler for sideline rules. It was so hot I let my player’s take their helmets off when they were not in the game. In all my years of coaching I can’t remember ever allowing that to happen” Coach added. The Rams controlled the game with a quick start and a strong finish. The Rams go to Ukiah to play the Lions on Saturday October 3rd. The Jr. Midgets pushed their record to 4-1 and stay in second place behind the mighty PAL Golden Bears who they play after Ukiah.
