The GCAA is making it MANDATORY for all baseball and softball coaches to become certified in CPR and AED training for the upcoming season. At least two coaching adults from each team MUST be certified for this season.

In conjunction with the GCAA's efforts, Winthrop University Hospital is offering the CPR/AED course at Winthrop Wellness Pavilion, 1300 Franklin Avenue, Suite ML5 (aka Healthtrax Bldg)

There is a discounted cost for the class which includes a take home learning kit. Upon completion of the course you will be certified for 2 years. Additionally, as part of the course you will receive information on concussion injuries and how to cope with athletes that have asthma.

Next Classes are Tuesday Feb 7, Tuesday Feb 28, Tuesday Mar 13 and Tuesday Mar 27, 2012.

The contact information for the course is as follows:
Nancy Mann
Coordinator for Community Training at Winthrop
516-663-4455
NMann@Winthrop.org

You MUST pre-register with Nancy Mann so she can ensure the class sizes have enough instructors.

Other classes will be scheduled in the coming months. Please make it a priority to attend if you plan on coaching for the upcoming spring season.
