Jesuit High School: Yanzick was a two-time all-league honoree in 2007 and 2008, also earning his team's best defensive player award both seasons. University of Washington 2006: Appeared in four games, one as a starter and three in relief ... got the start March 1 at Hawaii Pacific, picking up the win with a solid five-inning performance: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 Ks ... March 19 at Cal Poly, allowed two hits, but no runs, while fanning two in an inning of work ... also pitched vs. Cal State Northridge (Feb. 20) and Santa Clara (March 11) ... played summer ball for the Aloha (Ore.) Knights .... went 2-2 with a 3.00 ERA over 51 innings of work.

Jesuit High School: Earned two varsity letters at Jesuit, playing for coaches Craig Webster and Don Lovell ... earned first-team All-Metro and honorable mention all-state as a senior ... won his team's most improved award as a junior and was captain as a senior ... posted an 8-2 record during summer ball, helping guide his team to the regional championship ... also won two basketball letters and won most inspirational awards in both basketball and baseball.
