LADY MARAUDERS FINISH 3RD PLACE IN EASTERN LEAGUE
Mira Mesa Varsity (16-11 overall) ended the regular season with three straight wins, defeating Point Loma, San Diego and La Jolla. The Lady Marauders came in 3rd in the Eastern League with a 8-4 record, behind Patrick Henry and Serra.

KATRINA AGUIRRE LEADING 3-POINT SHOOTER IN EASTERN LEAGUE, LISA WISE AMONG TOP SCORERS
Mira Mesa's Katrina Aguirre was the top 3-point shooter in the Eastern League for the 2007-08 season. Aguirre hit 49 3's for an average of 1.7 per game. The Lady Marauders have four players among the top 11 Eastern League scorers with Lisa Wise (16.2) at #4, Niki Novak (11.9) at #6, Katrina Aguirre (9.5) at #10 and Shelby Watson (7.9) at #11.

BONITA OPTIMIST HOLIDAY CLASSIC
Mira Mesa finished in 2nd place, losing a close 57-52 contest to San Diego in the tournament final. Congratulations to Lady Marauders' Lisa Wise and Niki Novak who were named to the All-Tournament team.

MIRA MESA VARSITY SUFFERS HEARTBREAKING LOSS IN DAY OF 3 POINT BUZZER BEATERS
The Lady Marauders once again fell just short in an attempt to upset a Top Ten ranked team, this time losing 48-46 to #9 Mt. Carmel on Thursday night in a Kiwanis Tournament quarterfinal game. Mira Mesa battled back from a nine point halftime deficit to take a one point lead with under 20 seconds remaining on a Lisa Wise driving lay-up, only to see the Sundevils hit a three pointer right before the buzzer went off to give Mt. Carmel the victory. The Lady Marauders JV game also ended on a three point buzzer beater on Thursday afternoon in a Mt Miguel Tournament contest. Trailing by two with 2.5 seconds left, Mira Mesa inbounded the ball to Kelli Mleczko who drained the three pointer for a 48-47 Lady Marauder victory over Escondido.
