Magic 'N Motion offers a wonder program for our students! OPTIONAL Fundraisers are organized throughout the season in which parents and students are given the opportunity to raise funds to help off set some of their related expenses such as recital costume, recital tickets, and class pictures. For families on a tight budget, this program enables your child to receive top quality training while managing the pocket book.
Performance & Workshop Opportunities…
~ All students are invited to perform at our year end gala recital held annually at the Manitoba Theatre Center.

~ Dance Troupe – Intensive Performance Group (performs at various workshops, competitions, festivals, & public events)

Student Assistant Program (S.A.P.) / Student Teacher Training Program (S.T.T.P.) …
~ Students age 14 and up, interested in pursuing a future in the art of teaching are welcome to join our “Student Teacher Training Program”. An invaluable education opportunity for dancers and twirlers! A minimum of 1 year as a class helper is required. Other pre-requisites and benefits are listed in the studio’s “Student Handbook”.
DANCE EXAMINATIONS ~ Cecchetti / A.D.A.P.T.
~ Examinations give students a sense of achievement from mastering a goal, a discipline from perfecting their technique and moving on to the next challenge, all within the framework of your child’s physical, emotional and artistic development.
~ Exams are a yardstick to measure your child’s progress.
~ Exam students make superior teachers as they understand the mechanics of dance.
~ Examinations are optional and only taken when the student is ready. (Dancers wishing to train intensely with examinations as one goal should be enrolled in multiple classes weekly)
~ Schools that enter dancers in examinations are letting the students and parents know that their school has quality technique as a goal and is working with accredited syllabus.
What is Cecchetti? The Cecchetti method is a form of ballet instruction created by Enrico Cecchetti (1850-1928). The method is a strict training system with special concern for anatomy within the confines of classical ballet technique, and seeks to develop the essential characteristics of dance in its students through a rigid training regime. The goal is for the student to learn to dance by studying and internalizing the basic principles, in an effort to become self-reliant rather than imitating the movements executed by their teacher. What is A.D.A.P.T.? Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers. ADAPT is a certified "dance syllabus" offering yearly examinations in the dance disciplines of Tap, Jazz, and Ballet. ADAPT represents an elite group of dance teachers who follow the ADAPT Syllabus and enter their students in the yearly examination process. ADAPT dance teachers are leaders in quality dance training. They teach the love of dance and movement not only to the elite student, but to the recreational dancer as well. VisitA.D.A.P.T.

Why should I include ballet in my studies?
~ Physically, ballet class helps to improve and develop your body placement & posture, strength, coordination, presence and grace. Eventually, ballet training will refine your technique in all disciplines.

What are the benefits from taking more than one class?
~ Students who wish to intensify their training should enroll in multiple classes.
~ Crossover training enriches all disciplines.
~ Multiple classes are usually required in order to be prepared for examinations.
Can parents observe classes?
Twice a year, parents are invited to sit in and observe regular classes in session during observation weeks. (November & March)
Magic ‘N Motion Performance / Competition Troupes …
~ Students will be invited or may audition to join our Dance or Baton Troupe. Students will be placed on the basis of their focus, ability, positive attitude and commitment. MNM Troupe have represented Magic ‘N Motion at … local, national, international, and world competitions. As well as the Manitoba Dance Festival, Teddy Bear Picnic, Fringe Festival, and Dragon Boat Races but to name a few.
