The first time event in 2006 went very well and was a much needed boost to participation in Indoor Track for schools in the West KY area. There were 12 Girls Teams and 18 Boys Teams in attendance from schools as close as Murray & Calloway County to as far away as Henderson & Louisville-Butler. Elite Level Performances ranked by KYTrackXC.Com were produced in several events. In team competition Ft. Campbell's Girls & Paducah-Tilghman's Boys were the highest point earners.

IRON-PILOT POWERLIFTING
Fulton County High School will be conducting Winter Weight Training and Conditioning for athletes not currently involved in winter sports programs. This will give out-of-season athletes an opportunity to improve their overall physical fitness with a focus on muscular strength, agility, and speed which are elements common to ALL forms of sport. The program will be open to students Grades 9-12 for supervised workouts Monday-Friday from 3:00-4:30 December 1st – February 15th. Getting our athletes involved in pre/post season training is ESSENTIAL to competing at the highest level possible during the regular season! To keep in competitive form, students will have the opportunity to enter Competitive Powerlifting Meets and Indoor Track Meets during the winter training season. Students should take advantage of these unique experiences and personal goal setting opportunities!
How you do in MAY starts with what you do TODAY!

IRONHORSE LIFT-A-THON
March 15, 2008 --
This is a three team Powerlifting Competition which pits the best athletes from Fulton County, Fulton Independent, and South Fulton against each other in a test of pure strength. Athletes from all three schools will go head to head in eight weightclasses for 4 exercises to earn local bragging rights as to which teams and individuals have the most POWER. Athletes will compete in the Bench Press, Squat, Deadlift & Power Clean. The Top 3 Individuals in each weightclass will score points for their teams and receive medals while places 4-5 are awarded ribbons. The team with the most points receives the Ironhorse Traveling Trophy and the best Pound-for-Pound Lifters in the Upper & Lower Weightclasses get the "Outstanding Lifter" awards.
This year's competition looks to be the best yet and as intense as ever. South Fulton will return to the competition after taking a year off while Fulton and Fulton County want to break last year's "tie" for the team title. Last year Fulton's Antoine Porterfield set the bar high with 3 Meet Records but he and Ladrekus Moffatt, the two "Outstanding Lifters," have graduated so the Pound-for-Pound titles are up for grabs!

Middleweight - Jonathan Burnette (Sr.) FUCO
Light Heavyweight - Jaquise Lockett (Jr.) FULT
Heavyweight - Victor King (Jr.) FUCO
