2004 All-League Class "A" North
*Juniors Jacob Brant-LB,Aaron Taylor-SS, and Tom Mueller-FS were named to the Class "A" North 1st Team Defense. Junior Mike Ridge was named to the 1st team offense as a kicker.
*Seniors Kevin Kearney-DE, Nick Mastropoll-LB, and Josh Dzikoski-LB were named to the 2nd team defense. While sophomore offensive lineman Brian Parry was named to the 2nd team offense.
*Honorable Mention was to seniors Nate Beutel, Rob Eichinger, Nate Taylor, sophomore Shane Canahai, and junior Greg Eichinger.
*Jacob Brant came in 4th place voting for Class "A" Defensive Player of the Year, and Coach Cavagnaro came in 3rd for Coach of the Year,

SPARTANS BEAT LANCERS!!!
The Starpoint Spartans ended the 2004 season on a high note by beating their neighbors to the north. The Spartans Tom Mueller scored a touchdown with less than one minute remaining in regulation to beat the Lew-Port Lancers 17-14. Tom Mueller finished with 100 yards rushing on 26 carries. The Spartans opened the scoring as senior Linebacker Nick Mastropoll intercepted a Mitch Bunce pass and returned it 22 yards for the touchdown. It was Starpoints' second defensive touchdown of the year. Junior Mike Ridge added a 35 yard field goal at the start of the 4th quarter to complete the scoring for Starpoint. Junior linebacker Jacob Brant led the defense with 8 total tackles and senior deffensive end Jeremy Keuning added 7. The JV contest ended in an 8-8 tie which was played under the lights at Lew-Port Stadium. The JV finished the year with a 5-1-2 record.

2004 Football Banquet
Junior linebacker Jacob Brant, pictured with Head Coach Al Cavagnaro and Mrs. Mary Jo Baum went home with a lot of hardware as awards were handed out at the Annual Football banquet. Juniors Tom Mueller and Jacob Brant were named as Co-MVPs for the varsity football team. Brant was also named top defensive player and was the 1st recepient of the Dick "Boomer" Baum award. The Baum Award will be given annually to the teams best lineman. The award was created in honor of the late Dick Baum who was one of Starpoints greatest coaches. Tom Mueller captured top offensive player honors as well as being named the winner of the 1st annual Jack Himes Award. This award was created with former coach Jack Himes in mind. It will be awarded annually to Starpoint's best offensive back. Coach Himes led the Spartans to their only victory at then Rich Stadium. Juniors Mike Ridge and Mike Cutter were named Co-Special Teams players of the year. Most Improved went out to senior Nick Mastropoll and junior Ben Musall. Three Foundation Scholarship Awards went out to seniors Nate Taylor, Josh Dzikoski, and Kevin Kearney for their years of outstanding service to the program. Gatorade Award winners included Nate Beutel who won the "Will to Win" award. Shane Canahai won the "Rookie of the Year". Tom Mueller won Offensive Player of the Year, and Jacob Brant won the Defensive Player of the Year. Mike Ridge won the Special Teams Player of the Year. The 2004 Coaches Award was given to Rob Eichinger. Rob also was named Varsity Football Scholar Athlete of the Year. Another new award created in 2004 was the Pancake Award, and that was given to Brian Parry. At the jayvee level Jeremy Faulkner was named MVP. Top linemen of the year went to Jason Robichaud. Rookie of the year went to Cory Eggert. The Pancake award went to C.J. Regent. Eric Roberts was named top back. Christian Handley was named "Hit-Man" of the year.

Academic ALL- WNY Football Team
Senior Offensive linemen Nate Beutel was recognized by the Western New York High School Sports and Dick Gallagher as an 2004 WNY High School Football All-Academic First Team football player. Nate was the first to receive his award at a banquet on December 11 at Classics V. Nate was one of forty seniors that received the award. Academic All-WNY awards are given out to exeptional seniors that have a 90% or higher overall average and are starters on their varsity football team. Nate's mother, father, and grandfather attended the banquet.
The WNY High School Football Awards Banquest orginally started out as a way to recognize academic scholars and has grown into a major production. There were more than 500 attendees at this years event. This was Starpoints' 8th selection to the team. Most recently selected was Dave Majewski, Class of 2002 who currently plays for the Grove City College Wolverines(NJ).

PAL Awards Dinner
February 22, 2005 --
Former lineman and captain Nathan Beutel along with Lisa Batt represented Starpoint at the 2005 Niagara Falls PAL Awards Dinner. Male high school athlete of the year went to Niagara Falls Wolverine James Starks. James will attend the University of Buffalo next year on a football scholarship. The female high school athlete of the year went to Niagara Catholic's Sara Poreda who accelerates at basketball and softball.
