ASAP Plan
Hello Everyone,
Welcome to the TNLL Safety Page. TNLL is dedicated to providing a fun and safe environment for the players, volunteers and the fans.
This goal is accomplished by many volunteers and the adoption of "A Safety Awareness Program" (ASAP). The ASAP is a program created by the TNLL Board, following Little League Baseball's ASAP guidance. A copy of the ASAP is provided to each Team Manager. TNLL Basic Safety Rules
•Safety is the responsibility of every adult member of the TNLL. If you see something that looks unsafe, report it IMMEDIATELY to any board member, manager or coach. This report should be reported to the Safety Officer or a Safety Committee Member.
•Players shall not wear jewelry of any kind during practice or game times.
•All Volunteers are required to completely fill out a volunteer application form. This form will them be used to conduct background checks.
•No games or practices should be held when the weather is inclement or the fields are poor, particularly when lighting is inadequate.
•Inspect the field before each game for holes, damage, stones, glass or other hazards. The home team manager should complete a field and game safety checklist to ensure all items are verified. Any discrepancies should be reported and recorded to the Safety Officer as soon as possible.
•Only managers, coaches, players and umpires are allowed on the playing field during games and practices.
•All players must remain in the designated dugout area during the game.
•On Deck batting is NOT permitted in the Little League Division. An on deck batter should stand with the bat in hand in the dugout ready to take the field after the next batter. At no time should the on deck batter leave the dugout to take a swing, or be allowed to step outside the field near spectators to take a swing. THIS IS NOT PERMITTED AT ANY TIME.
•Players are not to leave the dugout at anytime to retrieve a foul ball.
•All players should be alert and watching the batter on each pitch during games and practices.
•Equipment should be inspected regularly for proper fit and defects.
•Unsafe equipment should be replaced immediately.
•Catchers must wear a catcher’s helmet, mask, shin guards, chest protector, and protective supporter at all times including when warming up pitchers.
•Foul lines shall be distinctly marked during all games on all fields.
•First Aid kits will be supplied to all teams and must be at all practices and games.
•No alcohol or illegal drugs are allowed at TNLL games or meetings.
•The Snack Shack at each Facility is to be maintained in accordance to all requirements stated later in this program.
•All rules and programs are monitored and enforced by the Board of Directors.
