Out of District Cup Play and Coach Qualifications:

Please note the minimum qualification for coaches participating in out of District Cup play is as follows:

BCSA ‘B’ Cup - Community Coach Youth (CCY)

Provincial ‘A’ Cup - Community Coach Senior (CCS)

This competition is open to all teams that have declared A Cup or B Cup by the October 1 deadline and compete in the Metro Select or VIPL League (A-Cup) or UISA League (B-Cup).

A-Cup who advances: Team which wins VIPL Final (Coastal Cup Round of 16). April 6/7

B-Cup who advances: Teams that have been declared the Island B-Cup Representative. (Won the Vancouver Island Berth) March 2/3

Teams must win each round to advance. Can be any day listed, location on Island or Lower Mainland. Be prepared to play Saturday or Sunday

April 6 or 7 – Round of 16

April 13 or 14 – Quarter Finals

April 20 or 21 – Semi-Finals

April 27 or 28 – Make-Up Weekend

May 4 or 5 – Coastal A & B Cup Finals in Richmond

Age Groups: U13, U14, U15, U16 and U18 Boys and Girls
Format: 4-team Round Robin Tournament

This competition is open to all teams that have declared B Cup by the October 1 deadline, compete in the UISA League (B-Cup), and have been declared the Island B-Cup Representative. (Won the Vancouver Island Berth).

Girls Provincial B-Cup, U13 to U18 - North Vancouver at Inter River Park
Host: North Shore Youth Soccer Association

Les Sinnott Memorial Boys Provincial Cup, U13 to U18 - Prince George at Rotary Fields and Glen Thompson Fields
Host: Prince George Youth Soccer Association

This competition is only open to all teams that have declared B Cup by the October 1 deadline and compete in the UISA League (B-Cup). This is the first level of B-Cup Playdowns.

UISA B Cup Play Down games are traditionally held in February. Start date of games will depend on the number of teams in division. The winner of these playdowns becomes the Upper Island B-Cup Representative. They will compete againist the Lower Island B-Cup Representative at the Island B-Cup Finals, which traditionally takes place in March.

Please note: Winners of the Island B-Cup Playdowns will advance to the Coastal B-Cup & Provincial B-Cup Championships as the Island B-Cup Representative. (Vancouver Island Berth)

In the case of a tie in points the following tie breaking criteria will be used:
1. Head to head games.
2. Head to Head goal difference.
3. Goal difference.
4. If teams are still tied a draw will be made to determine seeding.

** Teams who enter into Cup Play must commit until the final day of cup play. Failure to comply with this rule will result in fines for the club.

Teams who make it through to the Provincial finals in July & withdraw will be fined by UISA & BCSA.

This competition is only open to all teams that have declared B Cup by the October 1 deadline and compete in the UISA League (B-Cup). This in the second level of B-Cup Playdowns after the Upper Island B-Cup Representative has been determined.

** The winning team in an age group from our district are our Upper Island representatives for the regional B-Cup play downs.

Regional play downs (Upper Island vs. Lower Island) will be played at the following venues each year:

• U13, 15, 17 Boys & Girls HOME to Lower Island.
• U14, 16, 18 Boys & Girls AWAY to Lower Island

Winners of the Island B-Cup Playdowns will advance to the Coastal B-Cup & Provincial B-Cup Championships as the Island B-Cup Representative. (Vancouver Island Berth)

Upper Island vs. Lower Island B-Cup Play-down

Saturday, March 2 or Sunday, March 3
U13, U15 & U17 Boys and Girls HOME - will host at their HOME Club.
U14, U16 & U18 Boys and Girls AWAY - will play at Lower Island host's home club

Saturday, March 9 or Sunday, March 10 - Make-up day

Sunday, March 10 - Regularly scheduled games

This competition is open to all U13 to U18 teams in the Upper Island, with the exception of Metro/Select, VIPL or BCSPL teams ie: UISA League (B-Cup) or Tier IV (house). U12 teams are not permitted to challenge.

The Island Invitational Cup is a tournament that showcases the best of the Upper Island District, versus the best of the Lower Island District. It is a seperate tournament from the Coastal B-Cup and BCSA Provincial B-Cup.

The UISA alternates hosting with the Lower Island Soccer Association of this annual tournament held each April/May since 1964 under rules mutually agreed to by the two Districts. UI teams Boys/Girls from U-13 to U-18 are determined by Island Cup playdowns held during the season as scheduled by the District.

- Host clubs will be responsible for scheduling.
- Club Schedulers to make sure teams get a minimum one hour break between games (2 hours is preferable).

The format will continue as in past years with a round-robin tournament for each age group.
2 Teams – single game playoff
3 Teams – one day round robin, total points
4 Teams – two day round robin, total points
5 Teams – two day round robin, total points
6 Teams – two pools of three, round robin, winner of Pool A plays 2nd place Pool B, Winner of Pool B plays second place Pool A, Two winners in the final
7 Teams – Two pools, one three team and one four team, round robin within pool, top place in each pool plays in final.

-All games regulation length
-No overtime in round robin
-FIVE (5) goal differential.
-(3) points for a win, (1) for a tie, (0) points for a loss

If two teams are tied on points, the following is the tie breaker:

1. Winner of the match between the two teams
2. Goal difference
3. Penalty kicks

Failure to play games as scheduled will result in a $300 fine.

All players registered with the Upper Island Soccer Association during the 2011/12 Coastal Season are eligible to attend any BC Soccer sanctioned tournament up till July 31, 2012.
