A player's age as of December 31 determines the age group in which the player is eligible to play the following year.

10-Under Age Classification: A player born after December 31, 1997 is ELIGIBLE.

12-Under Age Classification: A player born after December 31, 1995 is ELIGIBLE.

14-Under Age Classification: A player born after December 31, 1993 is ELIGIBLE.

16-Under Age Classification: A player born after December 31, 1991 is ELIGIBLE.

18-Under Age Classification: A player born after December 31, 1989 is ELIGIBLE.

Players of younger classification may play in an older age classifications but an older age classification player may not play in the younger age classification.


For the 2009 ASA Junior Olympic Playing Season:

Players born in 1990 and 1991 are eligible to play 18U.

Players born in 1992 and 1993 are eligible to play 16U and 18U.

Players born in 1994 and 1995 are eligible to play 14U, 16U, and 18U.

Players born in 1996 and 1997 are eligible to play 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U.

Players born in 1998 and younger are eligible to play 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U.
 

 
NOTE:

1. Anyone born before or in the year 1989 may no longer play ASA Junior Olympic Softball.
 
2. Players born in 2001 and younger are eligible to play in the YCJGSL 7U age group.
