If a wrestler wins “wrestle offs” or think they might have an opportunity to go represent Franklin Regional in the Area III Championships as an alternate, then they must come prepared to register for the Area III Championships.
You MUST bring a copy of your child's birth certificate and a check for $18 made out to F.R. Wrestling to wrestle-offs. Upon qualifying, an application will need to be completed.
(We will not have access to a copier, so you must bring a copy of the birth certificate with you!)
AREA III Championship Tournament
When: Thursday, March 15, 2012 through Saturday, March 17, 2012
Where: Mt. Pleasant Senior High School
Time: Wrestling Starts at 5:00 PM (see Schedule Info under Handouts)

Where: Penn Trafford High School
Time: 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. (for all contestants)
Age & Weight Categories:
8 & Under: 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 80, Hwt (max 110)
9 & 10: 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 105, 120, Hwt (max 150)
11 & 12: 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 115, 125, 135, 145, 160, Hwt (max 200)
13 &14: 77, 82, 87, 92, 97, 102, 107, 112, 117, 124, 132, 140, 147, 157, 167, 187, 212, Hwt (max 252)
The top 2 wrestlers from each age and weight category will qualify to represent Area III at the State Championship Tournament in Hershey.
Skin Conditions
If someone has a rash or an infection they will need a skin infection MD form filled out by their doctor saying they are not contagious. This form can be obtained from the PIAA website or you may download one from our Handouts section of our website. If a wrestler has a skin infection and they want cleared to wrestle by a doctor, then they must use the new form, but remember that the referees still have the final say. The refs recognize that some MD’s are sympathetic to wrestlers, and they can still exercise their judgment on whether to allow a wrestler to compete or not.
