Rescheduling Guidelines

April 29, 2013

The schedule is 'frozen' once finalized and the only changes that can be made at this point are for weather related incidents. In the event a rainout occurs (or some other act of God that forces a cancellation), the following procedure will take place:

IDEALLY: Both teams affected by the rainout should communicate with each other and pick an 'Open Date' from the list of available dates posted on the league website within 48 hours of the rainout.  The new date should be within one week of the original rainout, or, up to three weeks out if any given team has four or more games already scheduled for any given week, but not more than three weeks out regardless of existing schedules. Once a date is agreed upon, one of the team's managers is asked to email the league secretary/scheduler with the agreed upon date.  Please copy the opposing team manager on the email.  The league secretary will then confirm the selection and notify all parties involved, including the park manager and chief umpire, via email and adjust the official schedule accordingly.

After 48 hours the following will occur:

1. The league Secretary will look for open dates during the upcoming weekend or following week the rainout occurs (minimum of 3 days in between rainout and rescheduling for both teams involved) and will confirm those dates to be available with the park manager. Weeknight doubleheaders will also be scheduled when it's possible to do so.

2. The league will then reschedule that game in the earliest available time slot that makes sense for both teams (every effort will be made to make sure teams do not play 3 nights in a row, but this can not always be guaranteed).

3. The scheudle has been officially changed at this point and the managers from both teams, the park manager and the cheif umpire will receive an email receipt of the change.  If any conflicts arise from the rescheduled game, these three steps will be repeated until a suitable date is determined and all parties will be notified of any such changes as they occur.

Please note, the league assumes each manager has a valid, updated and working email address. When the email is sent out with the rescheduled game, we assume you know the new game is officially 'on'. If you do not check your email regularly, please check your schedule on the Susky League website regularly for make-up games (which will be indicated by a blue exclamation point next to the new date). Make-up games are usually rescheduled within 72 hours.
