T-Ball and Coach Pitch Info

Cost covers the cost of the hat, jersey, pants, belt, and water bottle each player will receive.

Coaches are needed - To keep the number of players low per team, we need coaches and parents to help.  Coaching material is availble in our "Coaches Corner" webpage.  Coaches Clinics are held before the season begins.

Philosophy - This division will introduce children to the fundamentls of the game and build skills in a non-competitive, safe and fun environment. The age is based on April 30 of the upcoming year.

T-Ball Guidelines

  • NO on-deck circle.
  • NO stealing, strikes, balls, or outs. Outs may be used in Coach Pitch.
  • ONLY the batter on-deck and at the plate should hold a bat.
  • A coach will position/teach the player at the plate.
  • Coaches are allowed at home plate and in the 1st and 3rd base coaching boxes, and the pitching mound for Coach Pitch.
  • Players should hit from a tee at the start of the season.  The coach can decide when to start Coach Pitch.
  • Every player will bat once per inning.
  • Base runners are allowed to advance only one base. No advancing on overthrown balls.
  • The last batter of the “hits” a “home run”. It’s suggested that a different player hits the homer every innings.

Coach Pitch Guidelines

  • NO on-deck circle.
  • NO stealing, strikes, or balls. Outs may be allowed.
  • ONLY the batter on-deck and at the plate should hold a bat.
  • A coach will position/teach the player at the plate.

  • Base runners are allowed to advance only one base. No advancing on overthrown balls.
  • The last batter of the “hits” a “home run”. It’s suggested that a different player hits the homer every innings. This is optional when outs are recorded.
  • Batters will have five (5) hittable pitches to put the ball in play. After 5, use the Tee.
  • The ball should be pitched overhand from a kneeling position by the offensive coach at an appropriate distance. This prevents those high-looping “rainbow” pitches, which are difficult to hit.
  • Coaches should keep a bucket of balls on the mound to keep the game moving.  So, don’t throw a pitch and wait for the return.
  • A parent should serve as the “catcher” or be near the backstop to stop foul balls and thrown bats.

Fielding Guidelines

  • Players play normal baseball positions with up to 2 pitchers positioned to both sides of the mound. Please rotate your players through the pitcher positions.
  • Players are encouraged to make the appropriate play (caught fly ball, force out, tag out, etc).
  • Players should be rotated through all the positions during a game.
  • Coaches should use your judgment on a player’s skill level and safety prior to putting a player at a particular position.
  • Make sure that the 1st baseman has the ability to defend themselves to help prevent injuries..
  • During fielding, coaches and helpers are allowed to be on the field to help with positioning, paying attention, etc.
