Why Baseball U For A Player
Why Baseball U?
Baseball U works year round on new and exciting venues to showcase the players for the upcoming year. The organization is working hard on promoting its players to schools that are a fit both on the field as well as in the class room year round.
Winning Is Not Everything But It Helps!
In Three years the Baseball U organization has compiled a 221-60-5 record. The team has won 3 Perfect Game Tournaments claiming itself as the Northeasts number one baseball program. In two years at the biggest event in the world at the WWBA World Championships the team has compiled a record of 6-2-1. While winning is not the ultimate goal it beats losing and the bottom line is coaches like players that know how to win and winning gives the players the chance to compete in more games in tournaments against the higher profile teams.
Scholarships Anyone?
To date over the past three years players that have participated with Baseball U have earned 54 scholarships and over an amazing 3 million dollars. The number will continue to grow before the end of the 2009 graduation school year with many other players undecided to date.
MLB Draft
Baseball U players have been eligible for two MLB drafts thus far. An amazing 8 Baseball U players have been drafted. Come June 2009 that number should increase to double digits.
Winter / Showcase Workouts
With the Pre Season High School Workouts around the corner and the new showcase / instructional format with college coaches the exposure the organization will provide will only grow. The growth of organization has the class of 2007, 2008 and 2009 to thank. The new format brings instruction to tri state area players on a huge indoor turf field large enough to hold two full infield workouts at the same time. The hitting specific workouts will benefit the hitters during the hitting only workouts at the Frozen Ropes facility. Some of the top colleges in the northeast such as Rutgers, Monmouth, Seton Hall, St Johns, Villanova and many more (see list under HS spring training icon) will be on hand to instruct and give a hands on approach to all the players.
Baseball U and Skillshow/BaseballWebTV
Every Baseball U player that attends their showcase day will be filmed by Skills Show/BaseballWebTV. There will be no extra charge for the players to be filmed. Each player will be able to enter their information on the Skillshow A.C.T. System and send it to any coach in the country. This in fact will act as a mini showcase with all the information in front of a college coach in seconds. The video will include 60times, fielding, throwing, batting practice and pitching for pitchers. Baseball U is helping make sure every school you have interest in will see you.
Summer Tournaments
This summer the organization will travel to some of the top showcase events up and down the east coast. The team hits various geographical areas and gives the player the greatest opportunity to fit his level of play. Tournaments such as BCS NE Championships, Blue Chip Prospects NE Tournament, Clemson Invitational, USC Invitational, Coastal Carolina Invitational, Beast of the East, 16-18 Perfect Game National Championships, AAU Nationals and the NABF National Championships give those players a chance to expose themselves.
Fall Ball Format
In the fall the team starts at the end of August with the East Carolina Invitational, Blue Chip Elite 8, WWBA NE Qualifier, PA Select Showcase, Moosic Mets, U of Virginia Invitational, WWBA Underclass World Championships and the grand daddy of them all the WWBA World Championships in Jupiter. The schedule is set up so that in early October players do not have conflicts with games and college visits and the team leaves two weeks open on the weekends for visits and plays mid week games instead.
Want to Play For The U
The team is currently taking information on players interested in taking their game to the next level. The Baseball U organization believes in letting its players play as much baseball as possible with their legion high school teams. While there might be a few conflicts the team tries to avoid events that interfere with legion playoffs. Players should fill out the form located on the Prospective U player icon on the left hand side of the website. The winter workouts do act as tryouts for the team and many players will be selected from them. If a player cannot attend there will be tryouts in the spring near the end of the baseball season. With the various level of teams in the organization if places players at the appropriate level for that player. Geographics do not matter in most cases as the team travels to events and many players come from various different states. Baseball U uses the opinions of various pro scouts from different MLB organizations as well as college coaches. Baseball U also attends showcase events local as well as around the country to find players. Feel free to let the team know anytime you have a game or you are attending a showcase as well.
Those interested in playing for The U should fill out the Prospective Player Form. We hope to hear from U.
