What is the Delaware Valley Athletic Association?
The DVAA is a volunteer organization whose members support the local youth through baseball and softball programs. You are the DVAA! If you have time or talent to donate, contact us. If you have little knowledge on the diamond but can provide a professional service, organizational or administrative skills, contact us.

    DVAA History
The local youth baseball program began as the Delaware Valley Midget League in 1954. The four team baseball league for ages 8-12 played its games on a field in Milford on Milford-Frenchtown Road which is now the site of the Delaware Valley Family Health Center.

    Recent Accomplishments
    Field Condition Upgrades:
Established a field committee, reduced the number of fields to be maintained, hired a contractor to resurrect some fields and groom all the designated fields during the season. This was done at a considerable initial expense and after the 2006 registration fees were established, but it was essential to the program upkeep hence the 2006 program operated in the red.

The results were excellent field conditions. The same subcontractor was rehired for the 2007 season and the fields are groomed with specialized equipment every week. 90% of the feedback DVAA receives is from coaches remarking that our fields are in the best condition ever.

    Travel Program:
The 2006 season presented the broadest participation ever in travel and all-star play between baseball and softball. Basic policies and procedures were established that eventually led to more comprehensive policies instituted in 2007.

    Registration:
Since 2006, registration has been held earlier in the year (Jan), in response to the changing landscape of travel ball opportunities to our teams. We already have planned some additional changes to the 2008 registration process based on this season's experience.

    DVAA website:
Major technological advancements realized with the development and launch of the DVAA website in 2006 (www.leaguelineup.com/delvalaa). Over 11k users have visited the site in a little under two seasons. Real-time updating of the game/practice schedule is available.
