SANTA ROSA 13 - DIXON 0

DIXON 16 - PETALUMA 6
The Midget Rams played a very tough Petaluma Team to a 16-6 VICTORY on Sunday in Petaluma. The two teams played smash mouth football for a Quarter and ½, when Fredrick Douglas picked off a pass on the Petaluma sidelines. The Rhino Offense went to work in the 2 minute drill behind the blocking of Angel Resendez, Emilio Castro, Kyle Riley, Craig Roscoe, Nick Bonovich, James Nix, Nolan Williams and Tyler Allen. “It was a work of art” Coach D said. “It was the spark this team needed to get a little Swagger” Coach added. Devan Trujillo scored the Rams first TD of the year on a counter and Kyle Riley added the extra point kick to make the score 8-0 at halftime. Dixon kicked to Petaluma start the second half and they drove the field and after a few tries scored but missed their extra point kick. Dixon lead 8-6 when Petaluma kicked off and on came the Bison Offense lead by Devan Trujillo at QB. On the first play from scrimmage the Bison Line, Parker Long, Marcus Gomez, Andrew Garcia, Chris Meek, Maverick Miller, Jackson Schuetz and Javier Castro opened a hole for Kyle Riley who sprinted 45 yards down Petaluma’s sideline. After 3 more plays of amazing blocking Hayden Fry scored on a 2 yard wedge. Kyle Riley made the kick giving the Rams a 16-6 lead in the 3rd quarter. That’s when the Rams Defense pinned backed their ears and dealt out some good old fashion defense. Nick Bonovich had an interception and played as hard as anyone could play sideline to sideline. Hayden Fry and the Defensive Lineman Andrew Dudley, Mark Matol, Tyler Allen, Emilio Castro, Angel Resendez and plenty of other guys controlled the line of scrimmage while the secondary of Devan Trujillo, Fredrick Douglas, Nolan Williams, Geo Ventura and Kyle Riley did a complete shutdown of the Petaluma passing Game. “We will see that team again” said Coach D “that is a playoff team we just went to battle with” he added. The Dixon Midgets had lost 12 games in a row over the pass 3 season. “I told them in the locker room if the play hard from the 1st whistle to the last, they would be hard to beat” Coach Ray said. This is a big step forward in the future of turning the Midget program around in Dixon.

DIXON 31 - WINDSOR 0
Dixon 31 – Windsor 0. After beating Petaluma before the holiday weekend the Midget Rams came back with a new attitude towards winning. “They feel like they can be competitive in every game. It’s been a long time since some of our boys have felt that way” said Coach Dalton. This was a coming out party for Nick Bonovich who rushed for 156 yards and 2 TD’s and an extra point. Nick also played huge on the Rams defense to keep the Knight’s without a score. Kyle Riley, Fred Douglas and Kriag Roscoe tallied 97 yards behind the Bison Line with Roscoe and Douglas scoring TD’S. Kyle Riley converted on 3 extra point kicks along with intercepting a pass on defense. Hayden Fry added a TD and 52 yards rushing with 1 pass completion from the QB spot. “The big story here is not the offensive production by us. It’s the defensive effort put out by our 1st year players. Our Blue Defensive Group played almost 3 quarters of football this week” said Coach Ray. Mark Matol, James Nix, Emilio Castro, Javy Castro, Marcus Gomez, Tyler Allen, Billy Mistler, Jackson Schuetz, Chris Meek, Andy Garcia, Maverick Miller and James Dudley played big on Blue Defense. Meek and Schuetz each picking off a pass from the Knight’s QB in the 4th quarter. “This was a great opportunity for our 1st year players to get a lot of time on both sides of the ball. I was really impressed with the way they all stayed composed on the field” said Coach Dalton. “Every player on this team has to get better every week, if we are to make a play-off run” added Coach Dalton. The Rams also welcomed back John Short from and off season leg injury. John played a limited role but looked like he will only get stronger week by week.

DIXON 33 - ROHNERT PARK 14
The Midgets started the game with a Bang, Hayden Fry connected with Devon Trujillo for a 65 TD pass only to have it called back for a block in the back. That didn’t slow down the Rams though. Nick Bonovich and the Rhino smashed the ball down the field for a score. Nick had another great day with 107 yards rushing, 2 rushing TD’s, 75 yards receiving and a TD reception. Hayden Fry had 98 yards passing with 1 TD pass on the day. Also scoring TD’s on Saturday was Kyle Riley and Fredrick Douglas behind the blocking of the Bison Offensive line. “I just keep watching these guys get better and better every week” says Coach Jason. The Rams ended the day with a total of 334 yards on offense. the defense was just as spectacular behind the play of linebacker Kriag Roscoe who had 13 tackles. Helping out the Rams with key turnovers was Tyler Davis and Andrew Garcia with fumble recoveries and Devon Trujillo with an interception. Dixon also recorded 7 sacks on defense behind the break out play of Garrett Torres with 2 sacks. Dixon moves on this week to meet Central City at Santa Rosa High School on Sunday.

CENTRAL CITY 42 - DIXON 22
The Midget Rams lost on Sunday to the Undefeated Phantoms 42-22.” The score was not the story here tonight. We didn’t tackle and take control of our opportunities when we had them in 4th and long situations on defense” said Coach Clay. The Rams took the opening kick-off drove the ball the distance with Fredrick Douglas scoring from the 11 yard line. The Phantoms answered right back with a TD. The Rams Bison Offense took over on the second possession and drove the ball down the field for a Hayden Fry QB sneak for a TD, Kyle Riley makes extra point kick. With the game at a steady grind now the Phantoms score again after a Rams fumble. The Phantoms take a 22-16 lead with only 1:46 left in the second quarter. The Rams take the kick-off and drove the ball down the field with key passes from Hayden Fry to Nick Bonovich. Nick made a spectacular TD catch with only 4 seconds left in the half to tie the game. On the play Nick suffered a stinger in his neck and shoulder area and was taken to the nearest hospital and released shortly after. The Midgets expect Nick back to practice on Tuesday. “we had that team huffing and puffing out there. The injury to Nick and the delay, followed by halftime really gave the Phantoms back their wind” commented coach Dalton. The Rams just couldn’t muster up any fight after losing their teammate and friend. The Rams move on after this lose and look forward to seeing them again in the playoffs. The Ukiah Lions are next on the schedule next Saturday in Ukiah for a game under the lights.
