Every prospective member and her parent must read this handbook in order to tryout. I highly encourage you to print the handbook so that you can take time to read it thoroughly. Do not leaf through it thinking it is good enough to read the headings.
Previous Howell Pompon members must read the handbook each year also, as it is changes to meet the needs of our evolving program. Please re-familiarize yourself with policies and expectations, and take note of any updates or changes.
Every tryout participant & their parent, whether a previous team member or newly trying out, will be asked to sign a form stating they have completely read the 09-10 handbook. DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS REQUEST AND SIGN AWAY. Doing so will only result in problems for you, not being informed and prepared.
The handbook clearly outlines the program policies and expectations (both JV and Varsity utilize this same set of standards).
A JV ADDENDUM outlining JV schedules and fees can be found below.
EVERY girl trying out for the program (and her family) should know both the JV and the Varsity practice schedules* and be fully prepared to adapt to either team schedule once tryout results are posted. DO NOT ASSUME you will make one team over the other for ANY reason. You will be placed according to your skill level & performance ability as assessed at the tryout. In other words, it is your tryout scores & evaluations ONLY that will determine your placement. Neither your grade, time spent on JV or ANY other circumstance will be a factor.
*JV & Varsity practice schedules as outlined in the Handbook or any addendums may be subject to change.
