    Awards and Accolades - 2007
We are very proud of this section. Here, we cronicle all of the awards and accolades that Powersquad International has accumulated in the variety of tournaments that we attended from 2007 until 2010. Please join us in congratulating the members and the team for a job well done!!

2007 Can Am Kalamazoo, MI - Powersquad II (The Molson Muscle) win the Sportsmanship Award!
We are EXTREMELY proud of the Men's 'D' Team, the Molson Muscle, as they have won the Men's Sportsmanship Award for the tournament. This award is voted on by the opposing teams, and Powersquad's team got the nod!! This is Powersquad's THIRD sportsmanship award in the 5 years we have been in existence!! Congratulations, Gentlemen, for a job well done!!

Pictured, you see Chris ("Canada Chris") Kelly, Sean ("Big Daddy S") Garden, Greg ("Spicer") Spicer, Derek ("Vokey") Vokey, Louis ("Da Train, Kirby Puckett") Tolber, Kris ("A-Train") Farrand, and Jacques ("Jacques The Rock") Dungee.

2007 Christopher Columbus Tournament, Columbus, Ohio - The Women's team takes 2nd Place
We are very proud of the Powersquad Women's team that came in 2nd place at the Christopher Columbus Tournament!! Powersquad came from a 2 game deficit and won 3 games in a row to get their trophy! These women played their hearts out. Congratulations to the squad leader Amy ("Clemmens") Collins for a job well done!! As you can see, Powersquad walked away with a HUGE 3.5 foot trophy for their effort.

Pictured, starting from left in front: Ashley Robinson, Amanda Schirtzinger, Chelsea ("Dolce") Collins,
Christy Davis, Valorie ("Mrs. Perfect") Rhoton and Phyllis ("Mom") Tolber.

2007 Bristol Wreck Tournament MVP - Amy Collins
Our own Amy ("Clemmens") Collins (shown above wearing her MVP shirt that she got from the Tournment Directorate) was voted the Most Valuable Player of the Bristol Wreck Tournament!! The MVP is voted on by the umpires and the opposing team's coaches. This is a HUGE award Amy and the team in general!! Amy is having great success with Powersquad this year. No other American has ever won the MVP at the Bristol Wreck Tournament. We are extremely excited about Amy's success!!

2007 Festiball Tournament, Edinburgh Scotland - The Blackford Plate
Well, Powersquad did it - we won some HARDWARE at the Festiball Tournament in Edinburgh, Scotland!! Above, you see the absolutely beautiful crystal trophy that was presented to us at the conclusion of the tournament on Sunday! This was our 2nd appearance at the Festiball tournament and we cannot be more proud of the squad at this point!!

2007 Festiball Tournament - Blackford Plate Winners - Powersquad International
Our guests and supporters chanted this as Powersquad won 4 games in a row to take the Blackford Plate. We had a superb pitching performance by Pierre ("The Crusher, Big Papi, Papi Bear") Dungee whose curve ball kept the opposition guessing all day long, and home runs by Chelsea ("Dolce") Collins and Pierre ("The Crusher, Big Papi, Papi Bear") Dungee.

Pictured from the left rear, standing: Catherine ("Her Royal Highness") Defina, Dave ("Double D") Dean, Rob ("Jonny Bravo") Dickie, Pierre ("The Crusher, Big Papi, Papi Bear") Dungee, Neil ("Big Neil") Munro, Kris ("Rico") Cherubim, Jeremy ("Jez") Fothergill, Tony ("Crazy Arnese") Arnese, Jim ("Pops") Chandler.

Kneeling in front: Helen ("Gallus Besom") Kenneth, Patricia ("Pati") Pascoalato-Fothergill, Roni ("Stiffler's Mom") Stiffler, Chelsea ("Dolce") Collins, Danielle ("Danni") Tanbini, Diana ("Di") Maynard, and seated in front of all of the women is Caden ("Energizer") Stiffler, who got his nickname because he was so full of energy all tournament long.

Players who were present for the final game but were not shown in the picture:
Jacques ("Jacques the Rock, Jacques Bigelo, UK Gigolo") Dungee, Colleen ("Froggy") Elliott, Karl ("Big Fella") Smither, and Megan ("'Roids") Pask.

As you can see from the myriad of flags on this page, this team win was a TRUE international effort. We have players from 5 countries (The United States, Canada, Brazil, Scotland and England) come together and combine 5 different styles of softball play into one cohesive team. When the tournament was over, there were quite a lot of hugs and laughter.

Softball on an international scale... in an international venue. THIS is what Powersquad International is all about.

2007 Festiball Tournament, Edinburgh, Scotland - Blackford Plate MVP - Pierre Dungee
Pierre ("The Crusher, Big Papi, Papi Bear") Dungee won the Festiball MVP for the Blackford plate. Pierre pitched a superb 4 games against the Manchester Fish, the Chargers and the Dalriada Demons. Pierre also hit two MONSTER home runs (one against the Manchester Fish, one against the Dalriada Demons) to swing the momentum of the game ("Big Mo") in the favour of the Powersquad team. Powersquad is quite proud of Pierre!!

2007 Can Am Tournament, Hamilton, Ontario - Men's 'D' 3rd Place - The Molson Muscle
Powersquad's Men's team, the Molson Muscle, managed to place 3rd at the Can Am Tournament in Hamilton, Ontario!! The Powersquad men played some really good games ending up with a 3-2 record. We are extremely proud of what the squad captain, Greg Spicer(center, with the trophy) has put together. There were some great plays by the members of the squad and the pitching helped the cause. Powersquad is REALLY proud of the accomplishments of this team!!

2007 CanAm Tournament, Hamilton, Ontario Canada - Ms. Can Am Award
Our own Phyllis ("Mom") Tolber wins the Ms. Can Am Tournament award at the Can Am Tournament in Hamilton, Ontario! This award is voted on by the tournament directors as the BEST female player in the tournament!! Phyllis has proven she is a great player and a fierce competitor, getting respect from all of the teams she has faced. Phyllis has not problem telling you that she is 58 years old, and most of the tournament directors agreed that she plays better than most 20 year olds!! We cannot be more proud of Phyllis as this is one of the top honours at the Can Am Tournament!!

Pictured above: Phyllis ("Mom") Tolber with her son, Louis ("Da Train, Kirby Puckett") Tolber.

2007 Manchester Softball League - Karl Smither, Male MVP
Karl ("Big Fella, Waterboy") Smither won the Manchester Softball League MVP this year. Karl is new to the Powersquad family, and he was hurt most of the season with a broken arm. However, in the few games that he did play, he was simply AWESOME. Karl recieved a trophy for being the MVP (as seen in the picture on the right). We are all VERY proud of Karl and he joins an elite group of Powersquad players that have won an MVP award!

2007 Manchester Softball League, Dave Dean, Male MVP, Second Division
Dave ("Double D") Dean won the Manchester Softball League MVP, 3rd Division this year. Dave is new to the Powersquad family, and was very instrumental in Powersquad winning the Blackford Plate in Edinburgh this year. Dave played outfield for us and nothing hit the ground out there. Powersquad is very proud of Dave and he also joins an elite fraternity of players who have excelled in their play.
