A new menu option that is self explainatory, through the reorganization of the site, the many stories and extra we have had on the website will be condensed and filed in this section. For anyone floating by, this is where to go to find out information on anything Basher.

WHY ARE ALL THE SHELBURNE TEAMS called the BASHERS?
Looking sharp, and a little bit like some sort of pint sized gang, the Bashers are everywhere. With all the hats and jackets floating around, the whole town knows what it means to live in Basher Nation. With 2007 being the first year all the teams wear the same colours, the promotion of the program locally and provincially was greatly enhanced: add to this the freedom of movement of players between levels and the accessibility of extra tops or bottoms at any given moment, the move to create this army of Bashers was a solid executive decision by the SAMBA board. Heading into 2008, the initial start up costs for the season should be lower, allowing for core sponsorship funds to be used in other areas of SAMBA programming.
WHAT IS THE FACEBOOK SHELBURNE BASHER FAN CLUB ALL ABOUT?
With the massive success of Facebook (everybody’s doing it, haven’t you heard), some of our loyal parents started up this online Fan site to add pics and talk about all things baseball all summer long. If you are on Facebook, join on up…
WHAT IS STAT TRACKER?
Stat Tracker is an online concept designed to track the kids stats throughout the season…With less than 2% signing up to participate in Stat Tracker (couple that with a busy work schedule and double baseball schedule), the site has not updated the stats for any kids in a long time. With the winter months upon us, the Webmaster will be chasing down some scorebooks and inputting the final season stats for each team… As mentioned before on this website, the site will try to document and record all that is baseball so that an archive of information can be created and accessed by all who follow Basher Nation.
WHAT WAS CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST??????
This was our first online contest, used to help promote the site and generate interest in the site and the Bashers baseball teams. Complete with annoying snow and tingling Christmas music, visitors had to email the catch phrase to the webmaster when they saw the Stuck Santa animation on the Welcome Page. Four people qualified in this unique online contest, the only one to be held exclusive to an Association website in Nova Scotia all year. Couple this with the website’s ongoing growth and expansion through video and other mediums, the draw for this contest will be available for viewing on the Welcome Page on Thanksgiving Monday.
WHAT WAS THE NSSAF PROVINCIAL HEADLINE ALL ABOUT????
With the Championships being played in Barrington as this is written (October 6th, 2007), a number of features appeared on this website discussed the possibility of the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Baseball Championship being hosted by the 2006 winners from Barrington High School. Recently knocking out Shelburne and a Valley team, the Barrington Barons squad hosts Auburn Drive, Cole Harbour, Hants North, Glace Bay, and JL Ilsley. For full results, check the local paper, the Barrington High School website, of the NSSAF website.
WHATS WITH THE DANCING BABY AND BUBBLES?????
With this website having some cool built in effects, the dancing baby and bubbles have become the recurring celebration of the website’s success. Every 500 hits, the baby with all the moves comes out the boogie in the bubbles to the cellular ring tone sounding song “Celebrate”.
WHAT IS THE LOBSTER CUP?
The Lobster Cup is a Rookie Tournament. It will be receiving its own Permanent Menu Option soon....
MORE FREQUENTLY BASHED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO BE ADDED OVER THE NEXT MONTH AS THE SITE ENTERS COLD STATE FOR THE WINTER MONTHS.
