Coach Coleman started coaching for the Hornets back in 1990, at a time when losing was more common than winning. Coaching at the Pee Wee level in 1990, Coleman took a team that was 1-9 the year before and turned them in to a 7-4 team. In 1992 coach Coleman took over the Senior Midget team and led them to the Hornet Organization's first ever conference title. Since 1992 Coleman has won 8 conference titles, 92,94,95,97,98,99,00, and 01. 3 state/regional titles, 95,97, and 99. And 2 National Titles, 97 and 99.. #21 Taylor Justice TE/OLB 1997-1998

In 1997 Taylor was a member of the National Champion team as a back up corner and wide receiver. In 1998 Taylor came back with a year's experience under his belt. During the 1998 season Taylor started at tight end and outside linebacker. Taylor was third on the team in tackles with 81. First on the team in receiving yards with 205 and 5 td's. But nothing could match the leadership that Taylor displayed on the field. In high school at Bishop Verot, his leadership role carried over to the varsity level. Taylor is the first Hornet to ever take his football skills on to Division 1 NCAA football level. In the fall of 2002, Taylor attended ARMY on a full football scholarship.

    #30 Courtney Nunn RB/LB 1989-1990

Courtney led the way for the 1990 Senior Hornets. He led the team in rushing yards and TD's. Courtney established the Hornets winning tradition at a time when winning was not common. Courtney went on to lead Mariner High School in rushing in the 1993 season. Courtney is the first Hornet to ever play football at the college level for Florida A&M University, a division 1 AA level.

    #2 Ryan Drew RB/OLB 1997

From Mighty Mites up to Seniors the name everyone heard on the PA system was "Ryan Drew." Ryan by far has more rushing yards and TD's than any other Hornet that came up through the ranks, (Mighty Mite to Seniors). During an injury plagued senior season only playing in 9 of 16 games, Ryan still managed to rush for over 700 yards. Ryan led the rushing attack for the 1997 National Championship team. While attending Bishop Verot High School, Ryan led the team in rushing his sophomore and junior seasons, Ryan suffered a season ending knee injury in the first game of his Varsity senior year. Ryan is now the midget Asst. Def Cordinator with the Cypress Lake Hornets.

    #85 Shaun Reed WR/DB 1993-1994

Shaun was the master at crack-back blocks playing wide receiver for the 93 and 94 Senior Hornets. In 1994 Shaun led the team in tackles and receiving. The Hornet family lost Shawn in a tragic car accident in 1997. The #85 has been retired in 1997 shortly after his death and will never be worn by another Hornet again.

    #9 Larry McClinton WR/DE 1997

Larry currently is the Senior Hornets all time leading receiver with over 700 yards. Larry was the main target for the 1997 National Championship team's aerial attack. During 3 playoff games in 1997 Larry caught 5 touchdown passes, and recorded 400 of his 700 yards in those 3 games. Larry went on to play football at Cypress Lake High School as a receiver. Larry is now a coach with the Cypress Lake Hornets.

    #22 Chris Drew RB/LB 1999-2000

Following in the footsteps of his older brother Ryan, Chris led the defense for the 2000 PRC Champion Hornet team. Recording over 90 tackles in just 6 games. Chris also was the 1999 National Championship team's starting outside linebacker. The 90 tackles was just a small contribution to the team compared to his leadership role that he stepped into. Chirs is one of the best middle linebackers in Hornet history. Chris is now an assistan coach of The Hornets midget team.

    #44 Stephen Coleman TE/LB 1996-1997

In all of his 8 years as a Hornet, Steve led the smash hit defense playing outside or inside linebacker. Steve led the 1997 defense all the way to a national championship. Steve went on to Bishop Verot High School. During his varsity football years, Steve started at outside linebacker his sophmore and junior seasons, and at inside linebacker his senior season. In his senior season, Steve led the team with over 100 tackles. Steve is now a coach with the Riverdale Wildcats along with his father and brother.

    #80 Terrence Simmons WR/DB 1993

Terrence is second on the Senior Hornets all time record list with over 400 receiving yards and 8 TD's. Terrence went on to be Mariner High Schools leading receiver the 1996 and 1997 seasons. Terrence went on to Marshall University and walked onto the team. Terrence is currently floating aroung NFL combines, hoping for the chance to play on Sundays and to be the first Cypress Lake Hornet to make to the NFL.
