    2009 Spring League Information

    AGE GROUPS AND DIVISIONS

    A. Major League cannot turn 13 before May 1, 2009
    Minor League cannot turn 11 before May 1, 2009
    Coach Pitch cannot turn 9 before May 1, 2009
    Super T-ball cannot turn 7 before May 1, 2009
    Pre-K T-ball cannot turn 5 before May 1, 2009 and must be 3 by Januray 1, 2009

    DRAFT/MEETING

    A. We will hold a coaches’ interest meeting for last year's coaches and those interested in coaching this year. The meetings will be held at the Clover Community Park Building on Tuesday, February 17th and Thursday, February 19th.

    Meeting times are as Follows:

    6:00pm: Pre-K T-ball - Tuesday, February 17th
    7:00pm: Super T-ball - Tuesday, February 17th
    6:00pm: Coach Pitch - Thursday, February 19th
    7:00pm: Minor League - Thursday, February 19th
    8:00pm: Major League - Thursday, February 19th



    B. For the purpose of being fair to all participants and coaches, all players in their assigned age group will go through a draft. Draft dates are as follows:

    Minor League: Saturday, February 28th at 9:00am at Clover Community.
    Major League: Saturday, February 28th at 12:00pm at Clover Community Park.
    Coach Pitch: Monday, March 9th at 6:00pm at Clover Community Park.
    All players need to come to the draft ready to play with all equipment (such as glove, cleats, etc.).


    C. Exemption(s): Carpooling exemptions are not allowed.

    1. Head coach son/daughter
    2. Sibling(s)
    3. Relative that is the reason a coach is coaching (ex. An uncle is coaching for his nephew)

    PRACTICES/GAMES

    A. Major and Minor League scheduled practices will begin the week of March 2nd. Coach Pitch scheduled practices will begin the week of March 16th.

    B. Major and Minor League games may begin the week of April 6th and will end approximately in late May or early June. Major League games will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Minor League games will be played on Mondays and Thursdays.

    C. Coach Pitch games may begin the week of April 13th and will end approximately in late May or early June.

    D. Super T-ball and Pre-K T-ball games may begin the week of April 13th

    E. Make-up games will be made up as soon as possible (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday).


    FEES

    A. The registration fee is $40.00 per player and it covers the players’ shirt and hat, officials, equipment, field usage and any maintenance. The fee does not include pants, shoes, trophies, or a banquet.

    PRE-SEASON KICKOFF

    A. The Pre-season kickoff will be held on Saturday, April 4th from 9am to 2pm. All leagues are invited, events will include:

    Major and Minor League round-robin games
    Free food and drinks for players(meal tickets will be available for $5 for all spectators)


    ALL-STAR WEEKEND

    A. All-Star Weekend will be held on Saturday, May 9th, events wll include:

    Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit, & Run competition
    Home Run Derby
    Hit-a-thon
    Major and Minor League All-Star Games



    MISCELLANEOUS

    A. Picture Button Sales: These can be purchased from the Clover Recreation Department approximately a week after pictures have been taken. The cost of the button will be 2 for $5.00. We will only have buttons for players that take individual pictures on picture day.

    B. T-shirt Sales: Each team will have an order form to order team t-shirts for parent(s) or sibling(s) (the players uniform is included with the registration fee). This will be a t-shirt in the same color as your child’s team with a Clover Baseball logo. If a team purchases 20 or more t-shirt then the head coach of the team can pick a logo for the t-shirts. The cost of the t-shirts will be $10 for S-XL, $11 for XXL and $12 for XXXL. The deadline to order shirts will be Thursday, March 20th at 6:00pm.

    C. Kate’s Pre-Season Skate: Friday, February 27th from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. Passes will be given out through each team or you can pick them up at the Clover Recreation Department after registration is over on February 24th. Each pass will get the players and their family and friend into the rink for free.

    D. More information will be available at the Drafts on Saturday, February 28th and Monday, March 9th. At that point we will know how many players have signed up and what the options will be for leagues.

            Major League: Tuesday, August 18th at 7:30pm at Clover Community Park Field #1.
