Blaise Fernandez - Blaise verbally committed to George Mason University (Div. I) in Fairfax, VA and will sign his official Letter of Intent the first week in November during the early signing period. GM won 42 games last year, took second in the CAA Conference, and drafted 6 players. Blaise was recruited as a two-way player (infield/relief pitch). He plans to study history/political science/law. GM is highly respected in these areas and a large part of the decision was based on the proximity of GM to DC. We also have relatives who live within a half hour of GM. Post Nationals, Blaise played for two showcase teams out of the Mid-Atlantic Region, the Mid-Atlantic Mets (Summer) and the Mid-Atlantic Red Sox (Fall).
