Parents Intro Brochure

At Sauk Prairie Youth Hockey Association our program starts with the Cross Ice level. This covers ages 4-7 usually, and is to introduce kids to the ice.

Hockey is for both boys and girls - Sauk Prairie co-opping with Baraboo hosts a separate Girls Program. Girls have the option of skating on the girls team though they do not have to.

If you have any questions about any program at the Sauk Prairie Youth Hockey Association, contact Jamie Hanson.

If you would like to register, please contact Meg Juckett, 644-8813 or email hockey7@hughes.net.

Cross Ice
The Cross Ice program is designed as an introduction to the game of hockey.  We learn the basic skills of skating, stick handling and working together as a team.  The program focuses on developing the skills of each player in a non-competitive atmosphere.  Our goal is to teach kids the basics without the pressure of games and competition.  In the second half of the season, we do play some games for the experience, but we don't keep score.  The main purpose of the cross ice program is to get kids on the ice, teach them the basic skills of the sport and have fun!!
