Last year was the inagural season of the Hockey Valley Icers into the Laurel Mountain league last year. The Laurel Mountain league is a scholastic league that includes schools from here to Johnstown. The purpose of the league is to offer scholastic hockey to kids who attend schools that do not have scholastic programs.

There are 2 clubs (ours incuded) that are not associated directly with schools. Our goal is to build this program to eventually start scholastic programs in schools outside the State College Area.
we do take kids from State College as well. Last year we had several 6th graders who could not play for State College join our team.

We are looking to again field a "freshman team" into this league. We are looking for kids who are in the 6th Grade up to 9th. We are also willing to consider experienced 5th graders. The team will have a 16 game schedule (8 home 8 away). The season starts after football in November. Games are played during the week. The longest trip will be to the War Memorial in Johstown. Some practices are scheduled depending on ice availability. The cost of this program last year was very low and includes jerseys to use.
