Lake Oswego Youth Lacrosse Referees

If you are interested in being a referee for Lake Oswego Youth Lacrosse this Spring season, please check the OYLA website under "Clinics" for details.    You will need to attend one of the Oregon Youth Lacrosse Association clinics in order to referee  - the clinics are six hours long and begin at the times listed below.   The online registration cost of the clinic is $40 and includes the 2014 rulebook, flag and whistle.

Sunset High School                2/22      at 10 am

 Sherwood High School              2/23 at    9 am

Lincoln High School                   3/1   at     9 am

Lake Oswego High School      3/16      at 11 am

Required Referee Clinic Registration is online at the OYLA (Oregon Youth Lacrosse Association) website

Online Clinic Signup Tips:

·    Renew your US Lacrosse membership first go to    http://www.uslacrosse.org  - click on the membership link and then on the join or renew link 

·    On US Lacrosse website be sure to select "officials" membership (if you are a first time official, renew as a "player" and then call into US Lacrosse to have them add "official" to your membership)

To Referee Youth Lacrosse you need to:

1.   Be a US Lacrosse "Officials" Member ($35)  - see tips above

2.   Sign up for and attend a clinic ($40) - sign up at www.oylax.org (click on the "clinics" link and follow the instructions)  You will need your US Lacrosse number to sign up.   

3.   Pass an online test  

4.   Complete and return the following forms:

o   LOYL 2014 Referee Application    (Required for all referees every Spring)

o   2014 W-4 Form     (if you refereed last year, you do not need to turn one of these in)

o   I9 Form                (only necessary for new referees) 

5.   Purchase a Black and White striped referee shirt (approximately $23 - more information soon)

There are two levels of referees J1 and J2.     J1 Referees are paid $25 per game.  J2 Referees are able to referee Select games and are paid $30 per game.  J2 Referees are by invitation only.  (If you were a L2 referee last year, you should sign up for the J2 level clinic this year.)
