Week 7 Games (Saturday May 14, 2016)

Senior Division

Virgos 21 Scorpions 2

The Virgos were led by Lauren Buchanan who was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 doubles and 7 RBI. Buchanan also scored 3 times. Corinne Clemente was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. The Virgos had 10 extra base hits. Joanna Stern was 2 for 3 with a triple, a double and 2 RBI. Emily Hayes pitched 3 scoreless innings allowing 1 hit while striking out 2 and helped her cause by going 2 for 2 with a double and 3 RBI. Lyndsey Rotoly and Chelsea Jenkins both doubled in a pair of runs and Amy Ferrigno scored 4 runs and had 3 of the Virgos 9 stolen bases.

Pisces 15 Libras 1

The Pisces were led by Larissa Stone who went 4 for 4 with a double, a triple and a homerun while at bat. While on the mound Stone pitched one inning allowing 1 hit, striking out 1 and walking 1. Alyssa Steinmetz went 3 for 4 with a double and 3 RBIs. Steinmetz also pitched a strong inning striking out 2. Kim Cruz went 2 for 3 with a walk and a triple knocking in 4 RBIs. Katie Ruopp went 3 for 3 with a walk and a homerun knocking in 2 RBIs. Ruopp also pitched 2 innings allowing 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 1. Kelsey Krupa went 2 for 3 with a walk and 2 doubles.

Capricorns 2 Comets 12

The Comets were led by Natalia Franca and Rhianna Jones who both went 2 for 2. Kayla Warnock went 2 for 3 at bat and while on the mound she allowed 1 run and struck out 2. Jackie Schultz pitched 3 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 7. 

 

Middie Division

Scholars 17 Entertainers 5

The Scholars were led by Lexi Liquori who went 3 for 3 with 7 stolen bases, while on the mound she pitched 2 innings allowing 1 run and striking out 5. Sydney Darby went 2 for 3 with 2 stolen bases, Rhode Gardere went 2 for 2 with a stolen base. Kaiya Simpkins pitched 2 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 5.

Entertainers 7 Scholars 14

In game 2 of the Scholars and Entertainers the Scholars were led by Kaiya Simpkins who went 2 for 2 with a double. Rita Maria Confroti went 2 for 2 with 6 stolen bases. Que-Asia Bates went 3 for 3 with 5 stolen bases. Kaiya Koonhow went 2 for 2 with 3 stolen bases. Adriana Acosta went 3 for 3 with 2 stolen bases. Lexi Liquori went 3 for 4 with 3 stolen bases and while on the mound she allowed 1 hit, no runs while striking out 6.

 

Week 6 Games Sunday May 15th (Make-up May 7)

Senior Division

Pisces 7 Virgos 22

The Pisces were led by Kelsey Krupa who went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a homerun with 2 stolen bases. Larissa Stone went 1 for 3 with a double and a stolen base. Alyssa Steinmetz went 1 for 2 with a walk, 2 RBIs and a stolen base. Hope Valunzuela had 3 stolen bases for the Pisces.

The Virgos were led by Baylee Solorzano who was 2 for 3 with a double and 6 RBI and 2 runs scored. Joanna Stern had a double and 3 RBI and 4 runs scored. Lauren Buchanan was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. Emily Hayes and Corinne Clemente were both 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Ashley Ferrigno had a 2 run single. Amy Ferrigno scored 4 runs and had 5 of the Virgos 18 stolen bases. Amanda Freeman contributed an RBI, a run and 2 stolen bases. Hayes got the win allowing 4 runs on 2 hits while striking out 6 in her 3 innings of work.

Comets 13 Libras 8

 Jackie Schultz pitched 3 strong innings allowing 3 hits with 1 run striking out 7 and no walks. Schultz was also 2 for 3. Kayla Warnock was 3 for 3 with a stolen base.  Natalia Franca was 3 for 3 with 5 stolen bases. Jaclyn Yoselevich was 2 for 3 with 3 stolen bases.

The Libras were led by Lizruby Alicea who went 2 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI’s. The Libras ran the bases hard with Emma Radler stealing 4 bases, Vicelle Juanites stealing 3, Lissette Lloyd and Elise Neri each stealing 2 bases. Collette Gillo looked sharp on the mound striking out 3.

Libras 17 Scorpions 16

 In a game where both the Libras and Scorpions were aided by guest players, the Libras had a strong offense and defense. Vicelle Juanites went 4-4 while Lissette Lloyd, Collette Gillo and Elisa Neri all went 3-4. Strong efforts were put in by Jess Marie Torres, Sienna Bucu and Janelle Garcia. The Libras would like to thank all those who helped contribute to this victory.

Virgos 15 Comets 4

The Comets played a good game against the Virgos. Kayla Warnock pitched 1 inning allowing 1 hit and striking out 1. Warnock, Jaclyn Yoselevich, and Lyndsay Richeme all went 1 for 2. The Comets played a strong game.

Competitors 16 Entertainers 1

Grace Enderle pitched 3 strong innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 2. Kaitlyn Marques went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI’s scoring 3 runs. Izzy Rivera went 2 for 2 with a walk, 1 RBI and 3 runs. Grace Enderle went 2 for 3 with 4 RBI’s and scored 2 runs.

Scholars 2 Competitors 12

 The Scholars were led by Kaiya Simpkins on the mound striking out 5 and allowing 3 hits. Sydney Darby and Qua-Asia Bates both went 1 for 2. Simpkins had 5 stolen bases for the Scholars. Klarissa Hernandez had a beautiful catch in right field.

For the Competitors Izzy Rivera went 1 for 3 with a homerun knocking in 3 RBI’s. Angelina DaPonte and Gianna Viola both went 1 for 2 with a walk, a RBI and a run scored. Kaitlyn Marques went 3 for 3 with a RBI and 2 runs scored. Brianna Bowles pitched 3 innings with no hits and striking out 6 Scholars.

Week 5 Games (Saturday April 30, 2016)

Senior Division

Libras 11 Comets 15

The Libras were led in a solid offense by Vicelle Juanites, Collette Gillo, Juanites went 4 for 5 and Gillo went 3 for 4.  Gillo ran the bases aggressively stealing 5 bases including home and had 2 doubles. Juanites had a double and a triple for the Libras. Jazz… played excellent defense in the outfield while Natalie Colon and Lisa…both played well on the field and at bat.

The Comets were led by Rhianna Jones who went 4 for 4 with 5 stolen bases. Ciara Johnson and Kayla Warnock both went 3 for 4 and had a stolen base. Natalia Franca was 2 for 2 with a stolen base. All of the Comets had a hit to help the Comets win a tough game.

Scorpions 15 Pisces 10

The Pisces were led by Kelsey Krupa who went 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI’s. Allison Pierce was 2 for 2 with 2 walks and played well at 2nd base. Melanie Krupa was 3 for 3 with a walk and Kristen Sulewski was 1 for 1 with 2 walks. The Pisces fought hard despite the lost.

Virgos 23 Capricorns 5

The Virgos were led by Ashley Ferrigno who was 4 for 4 with 3 RBI, 3 stolen bases and 2 runs scored and Lauren Buchanan who was 3 for 3 with 3 RBI, 3 runs and 3 stolen bases. Lindsey Rotoly was 2 for 3 with a triple and 4 RBI and scored 3 runs. All of the Virgos scored at least one run, including Emily Blum, Baylee Solorzano and Corinne Clemente who all scored 3 times. Blum had 3 RBI and Joanna Stern doubled in a run. Emily Hayes was dominant on the mound pitching 3 innings of no hit ball, while striking out 3.

 

Middie Division

Scholars 14 Competitors 17

The Scholars kept the Competitors on their toes the whole game. The Scholars were led by Qua-Asia Bates who was 2 for 3 with a triple and 3 stolen bases. Natalie Olivo went 2 for 3 with 5 stolen bases. Kaiya Simpkins went 2 for 2 with 3 stolen bases. Rhode Gardere and Za-Nya Wright both went 3 for 4. Klarissa Hernandez went 2 for 3 with 2 stolen bases.

The Competitors was led by Simone Casella who went 3 for 3 with a homerun and 2 RBIs. Cara Ortiz pitched 3 strong innings allowing 4 runs on 10 hits striking out 5 and walking 2. Jenna Ortiz and Izzy Rivera both went 2 for 2 for 3 with a RBI.

Competitors 23 Entertainers 11

In the Competitors second game of the day they were led by Izzy Rivera who went 1 for 1 with 2 walks, a homerun and 5 RBIs. Angelina DaPonte went 3 for 3 with 4 RBIs/ Brianna Bowles pitched 2 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 5.

Senior Division

Comets 18 Capricorns 4

The Comets were lead on the mound by Jackie Schultz who pitched 3 strong innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, walking 2 and striking out 7. Kayla Warnock pitched an inning striking out 1, allowing 1 run on 2 hits. Yvannie Salomon allowed 1 Capricorn to hit off her. Ciara Johnson and Warnock both went 2 for 2 hitting a double and having a stolen base. Ravyn Johnson went 3 for 3. Destane Williams went 1 for 1 and stole a base. Salomon went 2 for 3 and stole 2 bases.

 

Libras 2 Virgos 17

Natalie Colon played well offensively, stealing 2 bases and scoring for the Libras. Mya Rivera also had a stolen base for the Libras. Emily Schroeder played up in divisions and did well stealing a base for the Libras. 

The Virgos were led by Baylee Solorzano who was 3 for 3 with 3 RBI, 3 runs scored and 4 stolen bases. Solorzano was stellar at 2nd base defensively as well. Corinne Clemente was 3 for 3 with a double, 4 RBI, 3 runs scored and 3 stolen bases. Alyssa Thomas was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 RBI, 3 runs scored and 4 stolen bases. Kaitlyn Matta scored 3 runs. Lauren Buchanan pitched well, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits, striking out 2 and helped her cause by going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, 2 runs scored and 4 stolen bases. Emily Blum was once again solid behind the plate, tagging a runner out at home.

 

Middie Division

Competitors 13 Scholars 13

The Scholars were led by Lexi Liquori who went 2 for 2 with 6 stolen bases. Liquori pitched 3 innings striking out 5. Rhode Gardere went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 stolen bases. Christiana Nwachuku had 5 stolen bases for the Scholars. Qua-Asia Bates, Kaiya Koonhow, Sydney Darby, Za-Nya Wright and Natalie Olivo all had 3 stolen bases. Kaiya Simpkins struck out 5 Competitors in her 3 innings on the mound and while at bat she had 4 stolen bases. Klarissa Hernandez and Rita Conforti each contributed to the Scholars by stealing a base.

Entertainers 5 Leos 16

Gianna Guido led the Entertainers going 2 for 3 having a double, a RBI and stealing 1 base. Mikayla Taunisma went 1 for 3 with 3 RBIs and a stolen base. Sabrina Duarte had 1 hit and 2 stolen bases. Sophia Santos had 1 RBI to contribute to the Entertainers 5 runs.

 

The Leos were led by Emily Schroeder who went 2 for 4 with a home run and 4 RBIs, and pitched 2 innings allowing 1run on 1 hit striking out 3. Kailey McDonough and Arianna Alvarado both went 3 for 4 with a double and 3 RBIs. Kalaini Day also had a double and 2 RBIs for the Leos. Emily Arias, Bridie Orsini, Mya Rivera and Kaitlyn Pello all had a RBI. 

 

Week 1 Senior Make-up Game (Friday April 15, 2016)

Virgos 12 Pisces 5

The Virgos were led by Lauren Buchanan who was 2 for 3 with a double, 3 RBI and 3 stolen bases and Emily Hayes who was 2 for 2 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Amy Ferrigno was 2 for 3 with a RBI, 4 runs scored and 5 of the Virgos 19 stolen bases. Joanna Stern tripled in a pair of runs and Corinne Clemente scored twice and stole 3 bases. Hayes allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3 strong innings pitched, while Buchanan tossed 3 solid innings allowing 4 runs on 4 hits. Each pitcher had 1 strikeout.

The Pisces played a tough game against the Virgos and kept the game a close one. The Pisces were led by Brianna Cortez who was 3 for 4 with a double and 3 stolen bases. Melanie Krupa was 2 for 3 with a double and a stolen base and while pitching in 2 innings allowed 3 walks. Alyssa Steinmetz pitched 3 strong innings striking out 3 and allowing only 3 hits and also had a double. Kristen Sulewski went 1 for 2 with a walk and 2 stolen bases. The Pisces catcher Kim Cruz threw out a couple of Virgos while behind the plate.

Scorpions 10 Comets 10

In a very tight game the Comets pitchers Jackie Schultz, Yvannie Salomon and Kayla Warnock allowed 12 hits, striking out 5 and allowing 6 walks. Ravyn Johnson was 2 for 2 with a stolen base. Rihanna Jones was 2 for 4 with a stolen base. Ciara Johnson went 2 for 4. The Comets played a strong game.

 

Week 3 Games (Saturday April 16, 2016)

Senior Division

Virgos 15 Comets 12

The Virgos smacked 5 home runs led by Lauren Buchanan who was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, 4 RBI and 3 runs scored. Emily Hayes was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. Joanna Stern was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, 4 RBI, 4 runs scored and a stolen base. Amanda Freeman was 2 for 4 with a RBI, 2 stolen bases and 2 runs scored. Emily Blum had a 2 run single and was clutch behind the plate. Kaitlyn Matta, Corinne Clemente and Baylee Solorzano each scored a run. Hayes was solid on the mound allowing 4 runs on one hit, with 2 strikeouts in her 3 innings of work. Buchanan also pitched 3 solid innings allowing 4 hits while striking out 2.

The Comets kept the Virgos on their toes all game. The Comets were led by pitcher Jackie Schultz who pitched 3 innings allowing 6 runs on 8 hits while allowing 1 walk and striking out 4 and while at bat she went 3 for 4 with a double and 4 stolen bases. Ciara Johnson went 2 for 4 with a stolen base. Raven Johnson went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 stolen bases.

Geminis 17 Competitors 8

The Geminis were led by Alyssa Thomas who went 2 for 2 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and a stolen base. Elizabeth Arias had a double as well for the Geminis. Naya Akridge, Amanda Schultz, Paige Phelan and Alexa Kemps all had a hit for the Geminis. Thomas pitched 2 innings allowing 1 hit with 1 run and striking out 4.

Entertainers 7 Scholars 16

Gaby Guido, Zoe Foster, Jhennah Fenner, Sabrina Duarte, Gianna Guido and McKenzie Meyers all had hits for the Entertainers. Duarte pitched 1 inning allowing 4 hits and striking out 1. Foster pitched 3 innings allowing 5 hits and striking out 2.

The Scholars were led by Kaiya Simpkins who pitched 2 innings striking out 4 and allowing no hits. Adrianna Acosta had a double and stole a base. Amyrah Horton also got a double for the Scholars. Sydney Darby and Rhode Gardere both stole 3 bases. Za-Nya Wright was 2 for 2 with 3 stolen bases.

Geminis 2 Leos 8

In the Geminis second game of the day they were led by Jenna Margaritondo who was 2 for 3 with 3 stolen bases. Alyssa Thomas and Meghan Gelcius both had a double. Emma Radler and Naya Akridge both hit in the 2 runs for the Geminis. Thomas struck out 3 while on the mound while Elizabeth Arias struck out 4.

 

 

 

Week 1- Friday April 8, 2016 (Make-up from 4/2)

Middie League

Geminis 22 Entertainers 3

In the Geminis season opener Alyssa Thomas pitched 3 strong innings allowing no hits and striking out 8 while Elizabeth Arias pitched 2 innings and had no hits. Thomas and Arias both hit a grand slam. Jenna Margarotando went 2 for 2 while stealing 6 bases. Megan Gelcius went 3 for 3 with 3 RBI’s and 4 stolen bases.

 

Scholars 1 Leos 11

The Scholars were led by pitcher Lexi Liquori who in 3 innings had 7 strikeouts. Kaiya Simpkins pitched 2 innings allowing 3 hits. Liquori and Simpkins both had 2 stolen bases and Qua-Asia Bates stole 1 base.

 

The Leos stayed strong in their season opener win. Kailey McDonough, Emily Schroeder and Ariana Alvarado all went 2 for 3 with 3 stolen bases. McDonough and Schroeder both had strong innings on the mound. McDonough pitched 2 innings with no hits and 4 strikeouts while Schroeder pitched 3 innings allowing 1 run with 4 strikeouts.

 

 

Week 2- Sunday April 10, 2016 (Make-up from 4/9)

 

Senior League

 

Comets 12 Pisces 9

The Pisces kept fighting hard in their first loss of the season against the Comets. The Pisces were led by Kelsey Krupa who went 2 for 2 with a walk and 4 stolen bases, Gianna Casella and Katie Ruopp both went 2 for 3. Kim Cruz had a double and while catching throwing a girl out at 2nd. Ruopp pitched 3 innings, allowing 3 hits, striking out 1 and allowing 4 runs. Melanie Krupa pitched strong as well pitching 3 innings allowing 4 hits, striking 2 out and allowing 4 runs.

 

The Comets gave the Pisces a game that took their all. The Comets were led by Yvannie Salomon who was 2 for 3 with 3 stolen bases, she also kept the Pisces runners on their toes while behind the plate. Natalia Franca had 4 stolen bases out of the Comets 15 stolen bases. Kayla Warnock pitched 3 strong innings striking out 3 and walking 1. Jackie Schultz was 2 for 4 with a double and a stolen base. Schultz pitched 3 innings allowing 2 hits striking out 4.  

 

Scorpions 16 Libras 9

The Libras battled hard in their season opener against the Scorpions. Vicelle Juanites had her senior league pitching debut allowing 4 hits, striking out 4 and walking 1. Lissettye Lloyed and Ally Leone each had a hit.

Virgos 16 Capricorns 1

The Virgos had 7 players contribute 2 RBI, led by Ashley Ferrigno who was 2 for 3 with a double, 2 RBI and a run scored. Virgo rookie Kaitlyn Matta drew 3 walks, stole 5 bases and scored 3 runs in her Senior League debut. Amy Ferrigno reached base all 3 times, drove in a run and had 4 of the Virgos 22 stolen bases. Baylee Solorzano drove in a pair of runs. Emily Hayes picked up the win, tossing 3 shutout innings while allowing only one hit. Emily Blum was stellar behind the plate.

Pisces 15 Capricorns 0

The Pisces bats came alive in game 2 of their double header. Melanie Krupa pitched a shutout inning while Katie Ruopp pitched an inning allowing 1 hit. Gianna Casella went 3 for 3, Kim Cruz went 2 for 2. All the Pisces had hits during the game. The Capricorns kept the Pisces defense on their toes during the game. Larissa Stone went 2 for 3 with a double and pitched 2 innings allowing 2 hits, striking out one.

Comets 14 Scorpions 10

The Comets stayed on a roll winning their second game of the day. The Comets were led by Ravyn Johnson who was 3 for 3 with a double, a triple and 2 stolen bases. Jaclyn Yoselevich was 2 for 3 with a double. Lyndsay Richeme was also 2 for 3 with a stolen base. Kayla Warnock also had a double. Yvannie Solomon was 4 for 4 and while pitching 2 strong innings so allowed 3 runs on 4 hits and striking out 1. Jackie Schultz was 3 for 4 with 2 stolen bases and pitched 2 innings striking out 6.

Virgos 21 Libras 2

The Libras played well against the Virgos. Vicelle Juanites, Ally Leone and Natalie Colon all connected and got on base. Colon had a double to contribute to the Libras.  Juanites struck out 3 Virgos in the Libras second game of the day.

The Virgos bats came alive as they pounded out 21 hits, led by Emily Hayes who was 4 for 4 with 2 triples, 2 runs and 3 RBI. Corinne Clemente was 3 for 3 with a home run, 5 RBI and 3 runs scored. Lauren Buchanan was 3 for 3 with a RBI, scoring 3 runs and stealing 3 bases. Kaitlyn Matta was 3 for 4 with a double, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. Amy Ferrigno was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Joanna Stern was 2 for 4 with a double, 2 RBI and 2 runs. Chelsea Jenkins and Amanda Freeman each scored twice. Hayes was once again brilliant on the mound, allowing just 1 hit over 3 shutout innings. Buchanan pitched well in relief allowing 2 runs on 1 hit.

 

Middie League

Competitors 10 Leos 6

The Competitors were led by Cara Ortiz pitching 3 strong innings allowing 4 hits and striking out 5. Simone Casella was 2 for 3 with a stolen base. Jenna Ortiz and Bree were both 2 for 3 with 2 stolen bases. Jenna Ortiz pitched 1 inning allowing 1 run on 2 hits striking out 1.

The Leos kept the Competitors on their feet the whole game. Kailey McDonough pitched 3 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits while striking out 3. McDonough was also 2 for with a stolen base. Emily Schroeder went 2 for 4 with a stolen base and while on the mound she struck out 3. Arianna Alvarado had 2 stolen bases for the Leos. Kaliani Day and Bridie Orsini both had a stolen base.

Scholars 1 Geminis 16

Alyssa Thomas pitched 2 innings allowing 1 run and striking out 7 and went 2 for 3 stealing 5 bases. Jenna Margaritondo went 2 for 3 stealing 3 bases.
