YOUTH SPRING SOCCER INFORMATION SHEET

AGE GROUPS
A. AGE GROUPS:
U5 cannot turn 5 before October 15 and must be 3 by December 31 of the previous year
U7 cannot turn 7 before October 15 of the previous year
U9 cannot turn 9 before October 15 of the previous year
U11 cannot turn 11 before October 15 of the previous year
U14 cannot turn 14 before October 15 of the previous year
COACHES NEEDED
The Recreation Dept will need a volunteer coach for each team formed. Head coaches will get a discount on the registration fee if they signup to coach at the time they register their child.
DRAFT/MEETING
A. There will be a draft for age groups U9 and up. Players returning from the Fall 2009 season can choose to return to the same team but all others will be placed in the draft. The request must be noted on the registration form or the player will be placed in the draft. U5 and U7 will not have a draft and can make requests for team, player, etc.
B. The draft will be as follows: TBA. At this meeting the players will meet their coach and get their practice schedule.
C. There will be a COACHES ONLY meeting as follows: TBA. All of these meetings will be held at the Belmont Recreation Dept.
FEES
A. The registration fee is $35 in city and $60 out of city per player and it covers the players’ jersey, socks, trophies, end of season party, officials, equipment, field usage and any maintenance. The fee does not include shorts, shoes, or shin guards. NO REFUNDS will be given after the registration date has expired. If a player drops after this point the uniform, trophy, and end of season party will be forfeited.
B.
PLAYER EQUIPMENT
A. A player shall not wear anything that is dangerous to another player. (Ex. Unpadded wrist cast, watches, earrings, etc.)
B. The goalkeeper shall wear a different color shirt than the other players.
C. The players may wear shoes with soft, plastic cleats or sneakers. No replaceable football or spikes allowed.
D. Shin guards are mandatory.
E. Recreation Dept. will supply several balls. Players may want to purchase their personal practice ball and place his/her name on their ball.
PRACTICES/GAMES
A. Soccer practices shall begin TBA.
C. There will be a preseason kickoff on Saturday TBA. Times and location will be on the game schedule. Uniforms will be given out at the kickoff.
D. Games may be played on TBA. Makeup games will be made up as soon as possible and could possibly be any day of the week.
FUNDRAISERS
A. Picture Button Sales: These can be purchased from the recreation department approximately a week after pictures have been taken. The cost of the button will be 2 for $5. We will only have buttons for players that take individual pictures on picture day.
B. T-shirt sales: Each team will have an order form to order team t-shirts for parents or sibling (the players uniform is included with the registration fee). This will be a t-shirt in the same color as your child’s team with the same logo. The cost of the t-shirts will be $10 for S-XL, $11 for XXL, and $12 for XXXL. Youth sizes are also available for $10. The deadline to order shirts TBA. The money must be paid before the shirt can be ordered.
Please help us keep the parks clean by picking up trash after the practices and games.
