Manager Application Link
PROSPECTIVE MANAGERS
If you are interested in managing/coaching a team at GYBA, please fill out a managers application and either e-mail or give it to the appropriate commissioner for the age division you are interested in. Assistant coaches must also complete a managers application form.

Anyone coaching or assisting with a team needs to complete a background check once a year. Please click on the link below and complete the form and submit it.

GYBA First Check Applicant Screening

As many coaches and assistants as possible are needed to attend the tryouts and rate players. Please see the schedule of events on the main page.

Field work days: Please bring weedeaters, gloves, shovels, etc. The more people that come and get the fields ready, the quicker we can be through.

FIELD CLOSURE POLICY
GYBA policy as related to field closure due to weather is that all fields are closed. Please do not make any exceptions.
This policy exists to protect the fields and once the judgment is made, all fields remain closed until the decision is made to reopen them.
Thank you for your assistance.

BATTING CAGES/FIELD USAGE
*GYBA facilities, including baseball fields & batting cages, are reserved at all times for currently registered GYBA teams only.

*Teams warming up for games should be given priority courtesy use.

*NO metal cleats are allowed in the cages with turf.

*Only ONE team per cage at a time.

ROTATION RULES PER DIVISION
Please note the following rotation rules for each division. The intent of these rules is to promote the development of a more complete understanding of the game of baseball by exposing players to various positions in game situations.

These rules will not be enforced by umpires. They will be enforced by your respective league commissioners. Coaches not in compliance with these rules will be subject to disciplinary action (at the discretion of their respective league’s commissioner) including forfeiture of games. These rules will be in force in both regular season, mid-season tournament, and end of season tournament play.

5U/6U Rotation Rule (National and American)
No player may play the same position for more than two consecutive innings in a four inning game. In a five inning game, a player may return to his or her original position. (For example, a player who plays first base in the first and second inning may not return to that position until the fifth inning.)

In addition, every player must play one inning in an infield and one inning in an outfield position.

7U/8U Rotation Rule (National and American)
No player may play the same position for more than two consecutive innings in a four inning game. In a five inning game, a player may return to his or her original position. (For example, a player who plays first base in the first and second inning may not return to that position until the fifth inning.)

There is no requirement that a player play an infield and outfield position. However, the league strongly encourages coaches at the 8U level to provide game exposure to all players in the infield and the outfield during the course of the season to develop a more complete understanding of the game.

9U/10U Rotation Rule (American)
No player may play the same position for more than two consecutive innings in a four inning game. In a five inning game, a player may return to his or her original position. (For example, a player who plays first base in the first and second inning may not return to that position until the fifth inning.)

There is no requirement that a player play an infield and outfield position. However, the league strongly encourages coaches at the 10U level to provide game exposure to all players in the infield and the outfield to develop a more complete understanding of the game.

9U/10U Rotation Rule (National)
There is no requirement to rotate position players. However, the league strongly encourages managers to be aware of players who pitch and play catcher during the same game to avoid placing undue stress on developing young arms.

11U+
There is no requirement to rotate position players.

Thank you for your attention to this rule. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your league commissioner.

GYBA BAT RULE
The official bat shall be round in cross section for its entire length, straight from end to end for its entire length and smooth surfaced in the hitting area. The maximum diameter shall not exceed two and five eights (2 5/8) inches. All bats larger in diameter than two and one quarter (2 ¼) inches must be equal too or heavier than minus 10 (-10) for U5 thru U12 and minus 5 (-5) for all divisions older than 12. For example -10, -9, -8, -7, -6 or -5 are acceptable in 8U or 10U but would not be acceptable in 14U. The maximum length shall not exceed thirty-six (36) inches. The bat shall be constructed of wood, aluminum, or any other material or combination of materials but cannot exceed the 1.15BPF (Bat Performance Factor) as defined for baseball bats by ASTM standards. Any material to improve the grip may be used for a distance not to exceed eighteen (18) inches from the handle end. All bats must be commercially manufactured for baseball play, softball bats or bats altered after manufacture to reduce or add weight will not be allowed.
