    Super NIT Regional


    Schaumburg Seminoles (above photo) take the NIT Championship and head to Disney! beating the Dupage Diamondbacks 8-1....Indiana Playmakers took 3rd and Orland Park Sparks finished 4th more details on the way!
    TBS highlights from the Super NIT. The Schaumburg Seminoles dominate all tournament and go a perfect 7-0 to win the Super NIT Regional. The championship game was the Schaumburg Seminoles winning 8-1 over the Dupage Diamondbacks. The Diamonbacks finished with a 6-1 record and a second place finish. The Indiana Playmakers finished in third place with a 4-2 record. The Orland Park Sparks finished in fourth place with a 4-2 record. In the semifinal games the Seminoles run ruled the Sparks with an 8-0 victory. Seminoles All American pitcher Brandon Duplessis threw five shutout innings. Scouts said Duplessis was dominating all game long. Offensively the Sems were led by Sean Kennedy who continued his clutch hitting with a big two run double in the victory over Orland Park. The Seminoles scored 8 runs on 10 hits off of the Sparks two ace pitchers. In the other semifinal game the Diamonbacks rallied for two runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Indiana Playmakers 2-1. Chris Savas had the big rbi double for the Diamonbacks in the semifinal victory. The championship was then set as the main event featuring the #1 ranked Seminoles vs the #2 Diamondbacks. In the championship the Seminoles dominated from start to finish. The box score was as followed the Seminoles 8 runs on 9 hits, and the Diamondbacks explosive offense was held to 1 run on 4 hits. Winning pitcher for the Seminoles was Ricky Ecklund who threw a complete game only allowing 4 hits. The Seminoles offense was led by Tommy Simek who was 3 for 4 with a big game winning two run triple. Great defense from Seminoles third baseman Brandon Hohl and second baseman Joey Cecchi in the victory as well. The Seminoles won all three playoff games on Sunday with a combined score of 29 runs scored and only allowing 1 run. Congratulations to the Schaumburg Seminoles the class of Illinois and maybe the best team in the Midwest. Also, congrats to the Diamondbacks on their second place finish and having a very good season. The Sems will now take their 90 victories and prepare for the AAU Nationals in Florida next week, followed by their second straight trip to the USSSA Elite 24 in Disney.


    Butler County Classic

    The Westchester Sluggers defeated the Schaumburg Seminoles in the championship taking the Ship at the Butler Classic! The Sems have added Rickey Ecklund (a top level pitcher formerly of the Arlington Longshots/Wisconsin Diamond Kings) This kid is a power pitcher and will help round out a staff considered one of the deepest in the nation (Olp, Duplessis, Kennedy, Simek).


    SPBL ELITE Tournament

    Results from the SPBL Elite Tournament championship game. The Schaumburg Seminoles win the SPBL Elite Tournament championship with a 10-6 victory over the Schaumburg Redhawks. The Seminoles were lead by great pitching from Brandon Duplessis. He threw 4 shutout innings in relief. Winning pitcher was Tommy Simek. The Seminoles offense was led by Steve DalPorto and Sean Kennedy. The Redhawks had a big game at the plate from Eric Walantas as well. This was a great game featuring the top two teams in the league all year from start to finish. The Seminoles finished winning the league and tournament championship with a record of 27-2. The Schaumburg Redhawks finished in second place with a overall league record of 21-5. Both these teams have alot of great baseball left. The Seminoles will be traveling to Sarasota, Florida to particpate in the countries biggest National tournament the AAU Nationals. The Redhawks will be traveling in two weeks to Statesbero, Georgia to participate in the USSSA Major World Series. This will also be a great and big time national event. These programs are truely what big time travel baseball is all about. Great competition and coaching provided each and every week throughout an entire season. The final results and standings from the SPBL Elite tournament are as followed. 1st place Schaumburg Seminoles 27-2. 2nd place Schaumburg Redhawks 21-5. 3rd place Bartlett Hawks 21-9. 4th place Prairie Gravel 15-10. 5th place Berwyn Bulldogs 19-7. 6th place Lake Zurich Cougars 13-11. 7th place Crystal Lake Bombers 14-14. 8th place Hoffman Heat 9-17. 9th place Arlington Longshots 18-7. 10th place Menomonnee Clubbers 12-12. 11th place McHenry County Hurricanes 10-15. 12th place Barrington Big Red 9-14. 13th place Norridge Young Guns 7-13. 14th place Windy City Wildcats 6-16. 15th place Chicago Roos 4-22. 16th place Chicago Cobras 3-20


    USSSA Governers Cup

    The D-Backs defeated Seminole Ace Brandon Dupliesss. D-Back starter Jake Naumann threw a two hitter. This team also played solid defense and played errorless ball, They only gave up 8 runs in the whole tournament. The Diamonbacks went 7-0 and the Seminoles went 6-1 in this tournament. Sean Kennedy, Mike Olp, and Gage Ecklund played well all tournament long for the Seminoles.


    Triple Crown Championships

    Naperville, IL

    Schaumburg Seminoles Win Triple Crown event and qualify for Fall Nationals!

    The Sems won the Triple Crown Championship in Naperville, Illinois. The Schaumburg Seminoles went a perfect 5-0 and won the Triple Crown Championship in Naperville. Winning this tournament qualifies the Seminoles for the Fall Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada in September. After a perfect 3-0 record in divisional play including an impressive 16-7 victory over a very good Bartlett Hawks team the Sems defeated the Wisconsin Rockhounds 8-5 in the semifinals behind great pitching from Tommy Simek. The championship game was completed on Wednesday after the game was suspended on Sunday in the third inning because of lightning. The Seminoles were winning 3-0 over the DTA Cardinals in the 3rd inning. The game was picked up and completed on Wednesday evening with the Seminoles capturing the championship with a 7-3 victory. All American and future American Legend on the Olympic team Brandon Duplessis pitched five dominating innings to get the victory for the Seminoles. The offense was led by Brandon Hohl who hit a two run triple to break the game open. Seminoles manager Russ Gangler was quoted in saying that Hohl continues to drive in big runs. Also, Mike Kane hit a big rbi triple, and Mike Olp had a big rbi single as well in the victory. The game winning hit was delievered by All American Sean Kennedy who had an rbi single in the second inning. Jason McClain continues his fine catching behind the plate. Tommy Simek was named MVP of this Triple Crown Tournament. Simek had two great appearences on the mound, and since being put in the leadoff spot in the lineup he's been on fire. Simek hit over .500 in the tournament as well. The Seminoles improve their impressive record to 69-12-1 going into the USSSA State tournament this weekend.

    The final score in the championship game was 14-6. The Schaumburg Seminoles go a perfect 7-0 to win the Slugfest National NIT Tournament. Including very impressive wins over the Westchester Sluggers 5-3 in the seminfinals, and 14-6 over the Indiana Bulls in the championship. Also big wins against the Midland Tomahawks 3-2, Wisconsin Diamondkings 9-3, and Orland Park Magic 9-3. Seminoles ace pitcher Brandon Duplessis threw a complete game to defeat the high powered Westchester Sluggers in the semifinals. The Westchester Sluggers came into that game with a perfect 6-0 record before the Sems gave them their first loss. As previously updated Seminoles All American Sean Kennedy threw five strong innings to get the victory in the championship game over the Indiana Bulls. Seminoles infielder Joey Cecchi made many fantastic defensive plays all tournament long at second base. Tournament MVP was Seminoles star third baseman Steve DalPorto. Great defense and an over .550 batting average for DalPorto in this national tournament gave him MVP honors. Congratulations to the Seminoles on winning this great tournament, and also running such a first class tournament that was the main event on the national scene. Orland Park Sparks 5-1 third place, Westchester Sluggers 6-1 fourth place, Columbus Cobras 4-2 fifth place, Downers Grove Longshots 4-2 sixth place, Top Tier 3-2-1 seventh place, Colorado Kings 3-3 8th place, Schaumburg Redhawks 4-1 9th place, Indiana Playmakers 4-1 10th place, Georgia Roadrunners 3-2 11th place, Long Island Bandits 3-2 12th place, Midland Tomahawks 3-2 13th place, B.P. Bombers 3-2 14th place.

    Schaumburg Seminoles take the Clubber Invitational Championship! Sunday's games at UIC college in the Clubbers Invitational Tournament were fantastic. The championship was won by the Schaumburg Seminoles 14-8 over the Lake Zurich Cougars in the title game. The Seminoles went a perfect 5-0 in the tournament including convincing wins over the Downers Grove Longshots 11-3 and against the Menomonnee Clubbers 14-3. The Seminoles were led at the plate by Mike Olp who led the team in total bases in the tournament. This was the Seminoles second tournament championship in the month of May, and with the return of All American Tommy Simek to the lineup now the Sems look stronger than ever.

    The Schaumburg Seminoles win the USSSA NIT Tournament in Bourbonnais this weekend with five straight impressive victories. This tournament championship gives the Seminoles a current record of 25-6 in their first month of the season starting on April 1st thru May 1st. The Seminoles were led in this tournament on the mound with victories from Robert Kennedy, Sean Kennedy, and Michael Olp. Sean Kennedy threw three scoreless innings in relief in the semifinals to help give his team a 7-6 victory. Olp was dominant in the championship game only allowing one unearned run in his four innings of work against a very good TNT Titans team. The offense was strong all tournament and was led in the title game by Sean Kennedy, and Mike Kane, with each of them having a two hit game. Brandon Hohl also hit a big two run triple in the third inning of the championship to break the game open. The Seminoles take their six game winning streak and their 1st place 9-1 league record into this week with big league games against Prairie Gravel, and Windy City. Stay tuned!

    The Schaumburg Seminoles played three thrilling games on Saturday April 23rd in the Battle in the South tournament in Tennessee. The Seminoles lost a tough 4-2 game in Saturday's opener to a very good Rockdale Rhinos team. Starting pitcher Brandon Duplessis pitched seven great innings to keep the Seminoles in striking distance. In Saturday's second game of the day the Seminoles defeated the nationally ranked Virginia Tigers 8-3 led by Jason McClain who had a big extra base hit in the victory. In Saturday nights playoff round, and what has been said to be one of the best games played in the entire tournament. The Seminoles lost a heartbreaker in the bottom of the seventh to the defending national AAU champion East Cobb Astros. The Seminoles were led by great pitching from Michael Olp, and led at the plate by Mike Kane who hit a two run homerun over the 340 foot fence in rightfield. It was a great game between two national contenders. The Battle in the South had 18 great teams from around the country in attendance. What a tournament.

    The Seminoles had a disappointing finish on a very controversial call.


    The Seminoles started on a great note having 4 straight wins in the tournament.

    In the Championship the Seminoles lost 4-0 to the Dupage Diamondbacks in a shortened 4 1/2 inning game. The Seminoles settled for 2nd place but are looking forward to the big time tournaments starting next week in Tennessee. Seminole MVP in this tournament was Brandon Duplessis.




    Paris TN
    Seminoles Start Season on a positive note.

    The Seminoles went down to Paris TN winning 5 straight games. These were their first games of the season. Playing in three games on Saturday followed by three games on Sunday. The Seminoles held on strong but came up short in the championship game. The Seminoles left TN with a 5 - 1 record and a second place finish.
