A Message from our Grand Knight

February 1, 2011

Brothers,
I hope your new year started off well. We as a Council are doing well with all the help from our members (don’t get me wrong we can always use more help). We have a very busy six months coming up.
On January 22nd we had our annual Free Throw Competition. I cannot tell you how it went since this article will be submitted a few days before it actually took place. On February 18th we have a Third Degree at Joyce Kilmer. I encourage those of you who have not made theirs yet to do so it is an experience you won’t soon forget. Those of you who made it already come down and be a part of it. Please contact me or John Cronan(I have to keep telling myself his name is spelled an not in) as soon as possible so that we can reserve a place for you. I am sure you forgot a lot of things that happen during a degree ceremony come down and experience it again for the first time. We are going to have our Knight at the Races on April 9th and we are going to be working hand in hand with our very own Chaplain Father Charlie. The kids down in Africa need a school bus so let’s show them what the Knights are all about and have one of our strongest showings to this event. Then in May or June depending on when Richie decides to have it, we will have our Annual Pitch N Putt golf outing. This is always a great event because afterward we have a great steak dinner and the highlight is Richies’ wife Barbaras’ Tortellini salad. If you can’t attend the functions we can always use donations of raffle prizes. These really help raise money and they always add some extra fun to the events. There is Bingo every five weeks and our next scheduled date is February 25th. Last but not least don’t forget about our monthly Business Meeting held the second Tuesday of every month. Don’t be a stranger come on down and get reacquainted with your fellow Knights.
Finally I would like to say Mike Hancock has recovered from his illness and is recovering nicely, and if you get a chance stop by our website kofc430.org and let our webmaster Rick Heinsman know you appreciate the job he is doing. One final thing your annual dues are due. Please pay them promptly. See the form in the Knight Life.

Keep Christ in you hearts,
