2010 will mark the start of the 5th season for Baseball U. During that time the organization has had an amazing 16 players player’s drafted in the first three MLB drafts. In the 2009 MLB Draft the team had 8 players selected.
While the team has had success in the MLB draft the focus is to get players into colleges that are a perfect fit for both the player and the college. Baseball U players have now earned as of 10/6/09 an amazing amount of scholarship money. That amount has now surpassed 5 million dollars. That number is based on a 4 year scholarship that has been offered to the player by the school.
In 2010 the team will attend some of the best events to showcase the players. The organization carefully chooses events that will expose the players to players from the Northeast to the Deep South.
The schedule is already in the works and it is shaping up to be the best ever. In choosing the events the team is also focusing on saving the families money. A carefully laid out plan is in place to cut cost on hotels and transportation by offering players a travel plan that will supervised by adult supervision and make the travel affordable.
Events such as Blue Chip Prospects, Perfect Game WWBA National Championships, ODU Invitational, UVA Invitational, ECU Invitational, U of Delaware Invitational and the USA Labor Day Classic will be part of the summer.
In the fall the teams will each attend both WWBA NE Qualifiers. Selected players will be able to attend the WWBA Underclass World Championships in Ft. Myers, Florida and the WWBA World Championships in Jupiter, Florida.
During the week the team will have organizational instructional workouts. One night a week the team will have hitting workouts and on another defensive workouts.
Baseball U understands that legion is a big part of many high school programs. In 2010 we will be focusing on allowing the players to play legion and also be a part of the showcase tournaments that will ultimately give them the exposure to gain their scholarship.
