INCLEMENT WEATHER

All players will be contacted by either their Head Coach or Team Mom regarding inclement weather. Once the decision has been made to cancel practice, an email/text/phone call will go out to all parents. Please do not call your Coach or Team Mom. You will be notified.
PRACTICES

There are three regularly scheduled practices each week (during the school year). Practices are held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 6:00 to 7:30pm and are held at the Bluffton High School practice fields / track area. (Behind the Middle and Elementary Schools) Practice begins at 6:00pm...you should be dressed out and on the practice field at 6:00pm! Practice times are short, and every minute is important! You should also make every effort to be at all practices. New plays will be learned before and during the season. If you miss anything, you are responsible for learning what you missed on your own time.

Parents can drop their child off at their practice area and then leave, returning for pickup at the time given to you by your coach. Please do not leave your child unless one of the coaches, team moms, or coordinators is there. Coaches make every effort to be at practice a few minutes prior to practice, however sometimes they are unavoidably held up. Coaches are not responsible for children left without a coach/representative present. Please be prompt on your pickup after practice. Your coaches have families that they have to get home to also. Repeated problems with pick up can result in dismissal from the team.

Practices are very physical and demanding. Please come focused on football, ready to learn and have a good time. Practice time is not a social event.

PRACTICE ATTIRE

Practice attire should consist of football pants with pads, cleats, t-shirt/athletic shirt, football shoulder pads, practice jersey. NO JEWELRY. The only exception is for medical or religious reasons. It must be cleared by your coach, and taped in place. We are not responsible for items lost during games or practices.
UNIFORMS

You will be issued a uniform for use during the season. This will include football pants, belt, socks, jersey and helmet. The majority of these uniforms have been used before. They will be in like new condition, and are to be returned in the same condition. Uniforms should be clean.

You will need to purchase: football cleats, pads (for pants), girdle (to hold the pads), practice pants, practice jersey(s), shoulder pads. These items are yours to keep.

Uniforms are to be worn only when coaches instruct you to: games, practices, scrimmages, picture day, Bluffton Bobcat football games. Failure to follow this may result in dismissal from the team.

ABSENCES

You should make every effort to attend all games and practices. Missing a game, without previous notification to your coach, can result in dismissal from the team. Two unexcused absences from practice can result in dismissal from the team. Notifying another player, parent, team mom or coordinator is not acceptable. You will be given numbers to reach your coaches. Communication is a must.

Being late for practices or games, and unexcused absences will result in the player having to sit out a portion of the game. This is determined by the coaches.

PHYSICALS / BIRTH CERTIFICATES

Each player is required by the booster club to have a sports physical done prior to practice. Sorry but we cannot make exceptions. We will have a scheduled date and if you have it done at that time the booster club covers the cost. If you choose to have your physician perform the physical it must have a urinalysis and our form must be completed. Your coach may require you to have another physical if he/she has concerns about the child’s health.

Each player is to provide a clear copy of their birth certificate to their coach/team mom. This is required by our organization and our league to be able to participate.

SCHOOL & GRADES

The Bluffton Bulldog organization and its coaches believe that good grades are important. You will be asked to provide a copy of your child’s progress report and report card. We want all of our athletes to perform to their best in the classroom and on the field. Players make sure that you use your time wisely and get all homework done.

Anyone suspended from school is not allowed at practice or games during a suspension. A child who is expelled will not be able to participate until they provide proof of being reinstated in school. This is a Beaufort County School board rule and since we are on school property we must adhere to this rule.
GAMES
We currently play ten games in a season. We have four home games played at Bluffton High School's Bobcat stadium.

We play 5 away games. These are Allendale: 75 miles, Hampton: 60 miles, Estill: 60 miles, Ridgeland: 30 miles, and Hardeeville: 15 miles. All games are mandatory. Parents are responsible for transportation to the games, both Home and Away.

Games start at 4:00 pm with the Pups. Your coaches will let you know the week before the game what time you need to report to the field, and what you need to wear and/or bring with you. You are asked to be there early for warm ups and run throughs, and because pee wee and midget games start as soon as the previous game is finished. If your coach tells you to be at the game at 5:00, that means you should be at your practice area, in uniform, having gone to the restroom and eaten.

No one will be allowed to “hang out” at the fences. This has been both distracting and in some cases harmful to coaches and athletes. Anyone with disruptive behavior will be escorted from the stadium. No one is allowed to stand at the fence and talk to or address cheerleaders/football players during games.
