2008 LEAGUE RULE BOOK
PIGEON PARK LEAGUE RULE BOOK FOR THE 2008 SEASON
STANDINGS
A. RECORDS
1) a win is worth 3 points, a tie is worth 2 points, and a loss is worth 1 point. A TEN RUN RULE IS WORTH 0 POINTS! The top 5 players with the most TOTAL POINTS will advance.
HITTING
A. BASE HITS
1) any ball hit off the spa, lower deck, or on the ground before the first line is a base bit.
2) any ball hit on top of the deck (THAT DOES NOT COME DOWN), or over the first line in the air is a double.
3) any ball hit off the roof, in the garden, or past the second line is a triple.
B. FAIR AND FOUL
1) any ball that is hit fair on the ground that is fielded CLEANLY (see ERROR section for ruling) while the ball is in a forward motion is an OUT.
2) any ball hit off of the deck steps is a FAIR ball.
3) Right field foul pole is the tree any ball hit off the tree and continues over the fence is a HR. any ball that lands in the woods is an out!
C. HOMERUNS
1) any ball hit over the house or fence and lands in the other yard or in the front yard is a HR.
2) any ball hit in fair over the fence and then goes into the woods is an OUT!
3) any batter who hits a HR can make the pitcher go get the HR
D. OUTS
1) any ball that is fouled and STAYS IN the net is an OUT!
2) any ball it into the woods or the neighbors yard is an OUT!!!! and the batter MUST go and try to find the ball.
3) any ball hit on the ground that is still moving forward and is fielded CLEANLY before the first white line is an OUT.
ANY BALL CAUGHT OFF THE SPA, TREES, SHED, DECK (NOT STAIRS), ROOF, OR SIDING BEFORE HITTING THE GROUND IS AN OUT!
