While facilitating games, please try to remain at the field during the half time break to ensure that the game is continued on time. (Unless there is an absolute need to go to the bathroom or you need something like water.)
Couple notes about Facilitating procedures:
1. For U-6/8, when the ball goes out of bounds, blow the whistle right away to stop play, then point in the direction of play depicting which team has the throw in. This eliminates confusion as to who has possession for the ball on the throw in.
2. U-4/5, ensure that which ever team has the kick off after a goal, is the actual team kicking off when you blow the whistle. I saw a lot of players on the defensive team, charging forward after the whistle blew and kicking the ball before the kick off team got a chance to kick the ball first. Blow the whistle if this happens and make them start the kick off over correctly.
3. Lastly, for U-4/5 again, ensure that only one coach from each team is on the field at any one time. Couple of games had the coach and the assistant coaches on the field together. Especially U-5, which as the season goes on, there is supposed to be minimal coach interaction, and even then, from the side line only.
Make sure you are executing the Pre-Game Talks and procedures as noted in the Rules. This is a great place to talk to the coaches about time of play, and rules such as one coach on the field for the younger games. Also don't forget to check for equipment of all players.
